Kind of pricey. I have 5 months to convince my wife it's a worthwhile purchase.

What does Pal Mickey do once you get home?

I went to Main street mega store on line.
OMG he is $95 dollars before shipping!
What is with that? I thought maybe $60ish!!

There is no way my husband is going to let me get one of these!!

Main Street Mega store is soooooooooooooooooooooooo extremely overpriced. I would see what Laughingplacestore is or I'd just wait till you go to WDW.

Oh yes, in several specially marked locations. Main Street Cinema, Mickey's Star Traders - he's in quite a few stores in the different parks.

You can find all the locations he's for sale here on the Pal Mickey page: http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/special/specialindex?id=PalMickeyPage

Also, you should play the Pal Mickey Game (yellow button; right hand column) because you can get a free pin when you buy him with a coupon you print from playing the game.

I got mine back in 2003 and I think he's so cool. I haven't even changed the batteries and he still works. I don't know if there is any other difference between mine and the 50th anniversay other than the way he is dressed and the way he interacts with cast members buttons. If there is nothing different, I'll probably just stick with my good old fashioned one when I go again this year!

I LOVE my Pal Mickey. My brother and I share one. Since he lives in Orlando, he keeps him most of the time. I get him when I come down. Well worth it in my opinion! Fun!

Is it worth it? Hell yeah. Tons of fun. I bought mine back in April 2004 (see some fun photos here.) I took him with me about a dozen times (I was a passholder that year) and had so much fun each time.

OK nobody laugh...I am 34 and bought a Pal Mickey (version 1.0) at World of Disney in New York. When we went down to WDW last month, I bought the new version. We loved him. His jokes were corny, but made us laugh during the long waits in lines. He even shook during the Haunted Mansion ride and told me he was scared. I don't have any kids....I'm the big kid. My Pal also has clothes and shoes. He has a biker outfit, a pilot outfit, a skateboarding outfit, complete with skateboard and helmet, and a Florida Gators shirt and jeans. I guess I need to get a life. His batteries did go out on the second day of use, but I had new ones in the park with me and he easily opens up with a coin. I think he is worth every penny!

What kind of batteries did he use?

We bought a Pal Mickey last year. So far my experience has been "so-so", but I'll tell you why.

Last year when I went to Disney my kids were ages 1 and 2, basically babies still. They would not have a clue how to use Pal Mickey, so mostly my husband and I used him. But the problem was with 2 babies we had a LOT of stuff we were carrying around (diapers, bottles, extra clothes, toys, etc). So our hands were totally full all the time carrying our bags and our kids, and having the Pal Mickey was just one more added thing to carry, so it ended up being more stressful than fun.

But in February I brought Pal Mickey again, and I let my sister (20 years old) and her fiance carry it around. They didn't have anything else to carry, just the Pal Mickey. So they were able to fully enjoy it. They said it was fun using him.

We're bringing good old Pal Mickey again on this next trip. My children are still too young to really understand how to use it, but we'll have a lot less stuff to carry around so he won't be such a hassle this time. We're only bringing it to the parks a couple times and then the rest of the time we're letting our friend's kids use it.

I guess over all 3 of those trips we will have gotten our money's worth. The main reason I bought him was so my kids could enjoy him when they are older. Probably 2 years from now they will really love using him!
