I have to give Disney credit for this one. A new product without a proven sales record, is a risky thing to introduce.

SO what do you do?

Introduce it at a lower price to gain public interest and test its real life appeal. THen, if it proves popular, raise the cost to your target sales goal price. Nothing better than word of mouth advertsing.

My Point exactly...

Arouse my curiosity...make it affordable...reel me in...then Jack the price up cuz you know I will Pay it.

Kudos to The Disney People...they're Good.

I'll Probably end up buying a Pal Mickey...cuz I want one...and they know that:sohappy:

you still have the pda version?

If it were your first, or even second trip to WDW, you wouldn't be so quick to claim that Disney created a piece of crap to make a buck.

AKA the magic moment pins ?

Does anyone think The PAL Mickey says the jokes to quickly? I played around with him at the store and thought he spoke to fast. Do you get used to the speed he talks? Does the original test version mickey a lot different then the ones that are being sold now at the parks?

bhg, yes, I have the original test version which was the PDA.

And trust me, the jokes he had before were a helluva lot funnier than they are now.

I remember when they first came out, big story backstage between a lot of people was who should get a version next (ie, lot of people wanted Sulley or Mike, SteamBoat Willie, Goofy, ect).

I personally wouldnt mind seeing a Donald or Eyore (Donald would get ticked when there were long long waits (I mean like 65 and longer)) Eyore, well he's my dawg, er, donkey. Hes always in that sad and droopy mood, just like me in the mornings and double that on Mondays.

Once you are there and you see a bunch of grown ups holding the toy, it really doesn't matter.

I'm a week behind in reading All Ears. Just checked, and it's in her 9/23 newsletter. I wonder why Mail Order told me it was still $50? I'll have to check again and see if I get the same answer.

Pal Mickey

I can't wait to get a Pal Mickey! We are going to WDW in December and I think all of us will enjoy it. I have been to Disney more times than I can count, but I still think it is worth the money. Also, I was told by a cast member that they will self update every time you take them to the parks (i.e. different trips).

We're loaning our Pal Mickey to my wife's co-worker when she and her family go down next month. The co-worker offered to get us something while down there as a way to say "Thanks" but we won't take her up on it.

There are 11,548 parking spots here at the Magic Kingdom. You are parked in one of them! So to save yourself and everyone here at Walt Disney World a lot of trouble, please remember where you parked. Also, any lost children will become property of It's a Small World."

 Having a three year old who has been to WDW too many times this cracked me up. We thought of purchasing one in June but figured price would go down and we didn't even use DVC discounts :brick: Can someone explain about the chip and the loss of it comments? Where is it located?

We got one when were down the end of September. Animal Kingdom is the best park for Pal Mickey. As you would walk by an area, he would have comments on the animal that was housed there. Also, the CM's at Animal Kingdom seemed more informed about Pal Mickey. Several asked how we liked him. I stopped in at Guest Relations at Epcot with questions when we first got him and they didn't have a clue about how he was supposed to work.

I believe after you take him out of the park he'll only tell jokes and play games. He needs the info download and triggers from the parks to activate the info.
