Good. The whole "Disney's" branding thing just seems so canned and corporate and stuck in the 1990's, and it would rub West Coasters the wrong way. When I lived back east that always bugged me how folks said "We went to Disney" or "This is like being at Disney". Disney? Do you mean Disney World? Or the store at the mall? Or the studio in Burbank? What?

West Coasters say "We went to Disneyland" or "This is like being at Disneyland".

They need to drop the corporate branding for California audiences and call it what it is, the Main Street Electrical Parade.

If I remember correctly, it was changed in 2001 since DCA doesn't have a Main Street and the title would be out of place. WDW simply never bothered to fix it, despite running the parade on their own Main Street. Hilarious, really. A very typical TDO move.

That bugs me, but no as much as "We just went to World". Saying "Land", luckily, is not catching on.

Oh, gross. "We just went to World"??? Who the heck is the idiot saying that???

They just need to spin off WDW into its own division of the company, then they can call it whatever they want and do whatever they want and watch 25 year old parades and stage shows and worry about making a reservation for a cheeseburger at Tomorrowland Terrace 180 days in advance.

I've heard it quite a few times from park visitors, but I was officially sick of hearing it at Aulani. I was having a chat with my waitress at Ama Ama and she mentioned that several cast members from "Land and World" had transferred there to help open the resort.

I guess I must not be hip, cause I don't get it :joyfull:

Sounds like the World/Land nicknames may have originated with Disney employees. Kind of makes sense when you think about it.

When it was at DCA I think they should have called it the "Disney Parks Electrical Parade" that name would be less generic and would recognize that it's been seen at more than 1 park

A reliable source told me that the Electrical Parade would be returning early next year, and would likely only play for a few weeks/months as a final last hurrah before being put out of its misery. Don't expect to see it again after it glows away from DL

The costumes for Paint the Night need some quality TLC, to put it gently. There's only so much repair that can be done on the fly with gaffer tape, and they reached that limit long ago. The upcoming downtime will give them some time to fix the electrical problems in a meaningful way, and make them more reliable longterm. I'm not sure where MiceAge came up with the injury/choreography/props idea, but that doesn't seem to be a major factor

As for Soundsational, you might want to get your final viewings in before Christmas kicks off this year...

^I hope so!

A replacement for Soundsational would be exciting. I love the floats and the music, but it's time for a new parade.
Imagine, new parades in both parks in the near future...Not quite convinced, but super thrilled if it's true!

Don't know about that but doing an ebay search for completed Electrical Parade light bulbs have gone from a high of $65 to rock bottom prices of $15 since the Electrical Parade was announced here.

I wonder what the new parade for Disneyland will be if it's true?

1. Whats a few months look like??
2. Yes injuries were a problem, I know a few performers in the parade.
3. Do you have any more info on sound?

You could get them for $20-30 a few months ago. Saw one at a pawn shop for $25. Never understood the appeal though- Disney burned through tons of these during the parade's lifetime, they aren't exactly "collectible".
