Since it looks like it's really happening now, any idea what could have been the catalyst for what is seeming like a very spur of the moment decision?

He was referring to PTN coming to WDW I believe not about MSEP ending. I may be wrong though

I guess FoF will run nightly until the 50th? Or they're gonna borrow a parade from somewhere? I don't really know but I don't see TDO building a new parade now and then another one for the 50th.

I don't see it. Probably another cost cutting measure for a while. Without a parade, no need for CMs to run / be in it.

It will run during select nights during the holiday season.

Yes, I am glad this faux parade is gone. This is "Disney's Electrical Parade" and not the "Walt Disney World's MSEP" so pack it back up and ship it where it belongs. Bring on a new one or a brand spanking new Spectro lol...

With MSEP ending on October 9, there won't be any nighttime parade, unless something quickly steps into its place, which is currently unannounced.

WDW scrapping Spectromagic back in 2010/2011 is going to come back to bite them in the butt.

Probably a dining package for FOF if I had to guess as they'll probably just move that to some time in the evening.

My understanding is MSEP will not be showing at DL until next year. That gives them time to transport and possibly refurbish. Once it arrives, I wouldn't be shocked if PTN moves out of California. Will it move here? That's the question. I don't see MK going without a real night parade for too long.

I hope they don't scrap MSEP like they did Spectro... still hurts to think about it. It's good to know that the parade is at least in more capable hands now. And oh my god DREAMLIGHTS PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE. This would fill my tiny heart with joy.

I think you're very right about them choosing their words carefully. Logicially I can see MK not having a nighttime parade through the fall & winter as Not So Scary & Very Merry take up a bunch of nights a week so it wouldn't be too long without a nighttime parade but I can't see them not having one but January.

There is no way TDL is giving up Dreamlights.

I think Paint the Night is the better parade, but would happily take Dreamlights over MSEP.
