Paint the night is not moving to Disney World. Stop bumping this.

Maybe it's not listed on the official site because PTN's return hasn't been officially announced yet? Gee, I dunno... ;)

Maybe PTN just isn't connecting with Disneyland guests. I know everyone wants to love it because it's bright and shiny and new, but MSEP has a lot more floats, characters, etc. It's just a better parade, albeit horribly dated and tired at this point.

@GiveMeTheMusic how did PTN do in guest surveys? Do you know? I hate putting stock into that kind of thing but we know how they operate these parks.

I have no desire to see PTN copied for Magic Kingdom anytime soon. I want something that mixes Spectro/MSEP, with a lot of floats. Not just a few.

Well then PTN would be Perfect at WDW where it's full a tourists that don't pay attention to details or care about much and who would LOVE to see bright and shiny floats going down the street lol.

One of PTNs faults, IMO, is the soundtrack. Something like Hong Kong's PTN show stop would be better, but longer of course.

Purely a guess but they probably do not have an estimated date for PTN to return, so no reason to put it in the "Parades Coming Soon" section. Which would suggest the refurb is taking longer than expected, as previously mentioned.

Side note: Glad to see this thread got a little "spring cleaning". Good riddance to bad rubbish. So tired of that poster's continual posts about PTN going to WDW despite what every insider here said.

Was this a mistake that has since been fixed? Or was it a well-done (and slightly early) April Fool's joke? I ask because I just looked and it shows June 18th as the last day.
Sounds like it was a mistake to me. I saw the page and it said August but now it says June.

Yeah, it must've been a mistake. I am skeptical of any news of this sort in the next day or so, though. After all, it's not that hard to fake such a thing. I have it on "good authority" that MSEP ends tomorrow, as shown in this screenshot... :)

Joking aside (me? being serious? no! ;) ), it actually is really easy to edit a webpage to get it to say whatever you want (right click, click "inspect", right click the section you wanna edit and click "Edit as HTML" and tada, works until you refresh). But I assure everyone that the August screenshot wasn't faked in any way, it was just a mistake that's now been fixed.

That's pretty messed up for Disney to pull a April fools joke. Fan sites is one thing but Disney's official site? Why would anyone at Disney go in to MSEPs page and change the date that's been listed as June for awhile to August?

PTN is the highest scoring entertainment offering at DLR in years. Guest ratings were through the roof.

Thanks! I'm a bit surprised, it's not a bad parade by any means, but compared to Spectro, Dreamlights and MSEP it's scale just isn't the same. I guess there was a hunger for a new parade that's bright and shiny.

I'd have to assume that they're treating the new night parade like a daytime parade where it eventually changes and doesn't run decades and decades ...

Have you seen PTN in person? The floats dwarf MSEP; the scale is huge. MSEP in its current form is truncated and feels very short.

No. I've watched videos (I know better than to form an opinion based on that, I do ...), I like the floats and the song, it looks great. It just doesn't do it for me though. The three other night parades I listed have/had a lot more floats and characters and performers and appear to be longer in length (and I could be wrong; I'll do the comparisons if necessary, LOL). I was going by that in terms of scale, not in how large the floats are, bigger isn't always better. I hope my opinion changes when I do get to see it in person. I'm open-minded about it, but I think they've done better in the past. Tech-wise it's very nice. But I'm not a Disneyland local or an executive so it's just an opinion ...

I know how dated MSEP and that it's hard to say it's "better" but I just think it is. Spectro was better. Dreamlights is incredible looking. But that's me. *shrug*

I'd love to be wowed by it when I see it so we'll see :) I know you can't judge by a video but, for me at least, it's different than watching a video of an attraction or even a fireworks/nighttime spectacular.

For those that love it, does it have the emotional impact? What about it makes you want to see it over and over again and go "wow that was an awesome parade"? Just trying to get different perspectives.

Again, I agree MSEP needs to glow away. I love the parade but it's time is over. I have no attachement to it sticking around, it has nothing to do with that. I just ask if some are clinging to PTN because it's new.

And I'm not trying to knock the parade lol. It sounds like that but that isn't the case. It's a very good and technically impressive parade with a catchy tune. I just prefer the more traditional parades of old I suppose ... again I'm hopeful my opinion changes when I do see it in person. I'll shut up now ...

Warning, this is coming from a person who saw MSEP two years ago for the first time, after growing up with Spectromagic and seeing PTN before MSEP.

PTN is incredible, as said above the floats are huge and amazing. A fact everyone seems to gloss over though is the dancers, nearly every section has a group of dancers who are lit up in interesting ways and do some impressive choreography, my personal favorites are Jesse and her yo-yo cowgirls, followed closely by the dancing dashboards. No other parade I've seen has this and it adds incredible energy to the whole event making it seem like a party. It is a fantastic parade.

I will always love Spectro, but PTN is a better parade. The biggest thing I miss from that parade is the music. The waltz just made the parade incredibly regal and made the MK feel so magical, I really hope the new parade in the MK tries to match that vibe as opposed to the party atmosphere of PTN. A party atmosphere fits DL and SoCal but I don't think it will translate as well in Florida where most of the guests are tourists taking the most expensive trip of their lives.

MSEP is a beautiful parade and the music is a Disney Classic, but from the basic Christmas lights, the pastel costumes on the characters and the movie choices it screams 70s. It is time to retire this parade.
