Paint the night is not moving to Disney World. Stop bumping this.

Out of curiosity why didn't DL include the PTN show stop that HKDL had? The show stop music was good! Only music that actually meantioned "Paint The Night" lol.

Current sentiment at DLR is that show stops are bad for operations. PTN, as it stands, would barely get off route most nights for the fireworks. If they added a show stop or two, the length of time the route is clogged would go up a great deal.

There was a show stop planned for Soundsational (at least there was audio produced for it) but I guess it ended up getting axed before the premiere.

There sure was. Did you ever get a chance to hear the audio?
I did! The rehearsal CD was leaked a long, long time ago and the Mickey unit show stop was included. It was basically an upbeat version of Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah with Mickey talking and stuff. I'm not sure if the other units' show stops would have been different or if it would have been the same, but it sounded cool I guess.

Oh man, it's so bad. Like painful. And I LOVE the Soundsational soundtrack, but that whole Mickey rapping thing was way off. Glad the show stop did not come to fruition.

I'm of the mind that a show stop needs to have a big payoff to be worth it. POD got there in some cases, but not all. Depending on the float that stopped in front of you, you could see something really cool. But if you got stuck with a float that didn't do anything, it felt like a waste of time.

I just didn't get what Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah had to do with Soundsational itself, like the music felt disconnected from the parade soundtrack. POD fits because, well, Welcome is the parade's theme, but Soundsational's show stop didn't make much sense to me. And you're completely right about the show stop needing a payoff. I think Fantillusion really perfected the idea of a show stop and made it popular, the entire parade is basically a rolling Fantasmic! and Tokyo's version is definitely one of the best Disney parades ever put on.

I sure hope this isn't true! At that point, no one would believe that anything advertises as going away would go away...MSEP has been advertised many times as going away and "see it 1 last time"...basically "see it 1 last time until it comes back in a year". Let's have a brand new entertainment offering at WDW and have DL keep their parade...after all, it was for their 60th...they had it just over a year and now get rid of it to give it to WDW? Not a fan at all...

If it is Ptn coming to WDW then it might be announced in 1-3 weeks Since rn it looks like if Msep does good (which it is doing good) Ptn will be heading to Florida
Hooray!!! We still have a chance! Maybe we'll get the old WDW D on PTN's drum if it happens! I'm a firm believer that WDW needs SOMETHING right now so this is good!

I'm surprised MSEP is doing so well already with all the bad weather around. FYI, No MSEP or WOC last night since DLR closed early due to weather. Good thing MSEP runs every night!

Just spitballing here, but wasn't it said that the weight and design of the costumes in PTN made them a liability with California's restrictive employee safety laws? It was said that they were going to attempt to deal with this during the refurb, but what if they figured it would just be easier...

I actually asked this question and I feel like someone said the performer's union regs in Florida weren't much different so it wouldn't be that big of a difference. Of course, I could be mis-remembering.

Well the Parks blog has been asked by a few people if and when PTN is returning and they have not responded. It would seem if they had plans to return PTN to DL they would have announced it. PTNs future must be up in the air at this point.

Tokyo does a great job with their show stops.
