Packing List

I'm in the process of packing for my trip, but I keep thinking I'm forgetting something. Does anyone have a packing list?

Okay, a few hints about packing from a...(GASP)... man!

We also take a noise maker (makes a "white noise", like a muffled fan). Since I work shift work, I started using one years ago to help sleep during the day. Now my wife can't sleep without it! It helps to muffle out "hallway" noises at night.

I'm so glad that someone else needs a fan to sleep also! My husband and I were just talking about this yesterday, trying to figure out what to do about the fan. All three of us in the family are used to sleeping with a fan (not blowing on us) but just for the sound and knew we couldn't take the big fan. Where can I find a noise maker, and how large are they?

Thanks,
Goofette

Go to a store like Target and get a cheap fan to turn on. Or if you dont mind it blowing on you most deluxe resorts and some cheaper resorts have celing fans.

Goofette, we've used one that's mechanical for years. It's actually a small fan in side of a beige housing, with adjustable vents to control the sound and pitch. It's round, about 5 inches high and 7 inches in diameter. I haven't seen any like this in stores for a long time...they all seem to be electronic now. We tried using an electronic one with all the "nature sounds", but have always preferred the mechanical one. I recommend doing a search on the web. I think there are some different models that were made for babies to sleep by, also. If you try an electronic one, listen to the sounds in the store first before buying...then you'll know if it has a sound close to a fan. The mechanical ones were about $40, but that was several years ago.

Another thing I pack - since we have two sons that are picky eaters, I make a small list of which places in the parks have combatible food for their taste buds and carry it in my pack. Saves on search time when everyone's hungry. Of course, some of you regular visitors to WDW probably know the menus by memory, but I have a ways to go yet.

The only problem with the fan was the size. We're trying to cut down on "Stuff" we're taking, but a small fan might be the same size as a noisemaker.

Well, I am glad to know we aren't the only ones who haul the soaps back from our trips. We are just now about to run out of them from our last visit. SHould get a good supply this time..10 days at the resort! I also take the snacks, cereal, mints, gum for the airplane, sunscreen, those Tide tablets and dryer sheets because we do pack light and do laundry once or twice while we are there! Besides the basics we also take along "Special" tip money..the girls like to leave new $2.00 bills but this time we will also take the Sacajewea(spl?) Golden Dollars.

I've never heard of this. What kind of milk does not need refrigeration?

It's called Parmalat. It comes in juice box type boxes, 9oz. containers in packs of three. They also have 1 liter containers as well. It can usually be found in the canned milk section. It comes in whole, lowfat, skim, chocolate, and strawberry. I just bought some for our trip yesterday. It tastes just like regular milk, but does not need to be refridgerated until after you open it.

Hmm..guess I will have to look for that..we usually just grab regular milk and keep it in the styrofoam cooler. We always eat b'fast in the room but this time we are doing the character b'fast at the castle w/ the girls. Oh you know did anyone mention bringing along the razor and shaving cream? I couldn't go the whole trip w/o those...esp. since this trip is 10 wonderful days!!!
