Have you seen the trailers?

Yes.

Looking forward to the movies?

No.Not at all.

I was looking forward to it when they were scouting Robert Downey Jr. for the role. But then they got James Franco.

James Franco has two modes....either he's insanely boring (almost every movie he's ever been in) or he's insanely insufferable (the stoner comedies).

Then I saw the trailer....which looked like Sam Raimi simply copied and pasted Tim Burton's version of Wonderland. I kept expecting Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter to pop up.

All in all....this movie might make a lot of money....but none will be coming from my pocket.

Something about that really fake looking CGI green hand at the end really turned me off from the movie.

Also I never really like James Franco when he isn't playing a stoner/slacker. He just can't sell anything else.

I for one am very excited to see it. I love the trailer and the part at the end with the witch in the fire makes me want to see it so bad. Can't wait!! :)

I can tell you I would not go see Lincoln because I would imagine Spielberg has twisted it into some ultra liberal feel good movie. People were talking about Lincoln winning Oscars before the film came out, that's the crowd that would go see that. No thanks. I didn't see the last Toy Story either I kept hearing ladies saying the movie made them cry, why do I want to go see that??? John Carter or what ever that movie was??? I couldn't figure out what it was about it just looked like CGI fest with people battling super natural beasts. I don't enjoy movies that are all visual no story. OZ??? I'll give it a few weeks to hear if it has a story or is just a CGI fest.

I don't think the political slant of Lincoln is particularly relevant, especially considering a town filled with Liberals still couldn't push this film over the $200m mark. Also, I don't believe Lincoln is going to win many awards on the 24th, especially not Best Picture.

I'll pass over the TS3 part and head straight into John Carter. That is a fine example of an extended budget and a filmmaker relying upon CGI to get the point across. Of course, the argument could be made that it wasn't CGI that doomed the film, but instead it was the incredibly poor-fitting marketing campaign - which was clearly manufactured by someone who hadn't seen the film.

But yes, CGI has an impact on a lot of cinema-goers. I would hazard a guess that there are many like you who are waiting to hear what the film is like before going to see it. If that's the case, there's no chance of a decent hold on the film's second weekend. Probably will fall off something like 74%

The CG Witch has me worried for sure...I'll see it. But right now it looks like a popcorn movie, along the lines of Van Helsing-turn your brain off at the door, enjoy the ride-and forget much of it afterwards. I hope it surprises me and is much better than that, but I do have my doubts-which started with that CGI hand at the end of the trailers...
