overtime

It depends on your area, but it's actually over 8 hours in a day and over 40 in a week. Less than 8 hours between shifts is not overtime, but rather doubletime.

yeah... I was going to say.... as a tech its anything over 8 is 1.5 time, anything over 14 is double time... if you have less than 8 hours between shifts then you are in turn around so your hour clock wouldn't reset. (so if you worked 8, had 7 off and then came back for another 4 you would have 12 hrs)

Imayoyo, what department are you in? I ask because my division (o&t) has a different breakdown for doubletime. I learned the hard way.

My example: I worked 6 hours (grad night). 6 hours later, I had to be back at work at 10 AM for an 8 hour day. Turns out the closer never showed and someone had to stay till midnight. I drew the short straw, so I worked 14 hours that day. How did I get paid?

2 of 14 hours were regular time to make the day before an 8 hour day.

The next 8 hours were paid at time and a half because of the short turn around.

The last 4 hours were paid at double time.

The provisions I spoke about above are for Union (STCU) front-line Cast Members. O&T is different. It sounds like you were paid properly. The rules are as follows for O&T:
First 8 hours ST
2nd 8 hours OT
anything above that DT.

Double-back takes effect if you have less than 8 hours between 2 shifts that span a date-line. Are you paid in Workbrain or SAP? Your second shift should have been the first two hours at ST and the rest at DT. I would check with your local ETR office though. Since O&T is not unionized, each areas rules may be a bit different.

When I was in labor I was at the DRC and Downtown Disney, so the rules I know are based on those 2 areas.

As far as now, I'm not sure how it would break down for my CMs. My ID isn't the same color as their IDs... no such thing as OT for me.

If frontline means onstage, I am front line, but our department is in O & T. And I did double check. I was paid correctly. Unfortunately for me, the OverTime I was paid was going to be over time anyway because I had already worked 40 hours. Maybe I'll switch my days off to the beginning of the week:drevil: . But hey, 4 hours of double time is like another 8 hour day.

Are you EPCOT photopass?

EPCOT, no; Photopass, yes.
My father is seasonal photopass at EPCOT, hence me asking :) Though he picks up hours elsewhere all the time. Jeff... blonde hair, looks a hell of a lot younger than he is (looks like he's 30), well built, likes to work toontown... If you ever see him, be sure to hassle him for me.

That's only depending on how many hours you worked the day before. If you work a 4 hour shift, and then you're on turnaround the next day, it's time and 1/2. I think you have to work 14 hours straight one day, then be on turnaround the next day for Double Time.

Actually, it's Time and 1/2, not Double Time.
Sorry Kat, not always so. It depends on your area. I used to be an ETR manager for STCU roles and for O&T roles, so entertainment may be different, but as for STCU, less than 8 hours = doubletime. If you go to the hub and click "Add module", there's a module available to some (not all) cast members called "OLM Operating Guidelines". If you have that available, you can add it, and it will show you the rules for many (not all) frontline roles at WDW, Celebration, DRC Orlando and Tampa, Miami and Hialeah.

The rules for turn around are different for each department depending on if you are union or not and salaried or not or some obscure division or not. We most likely are all correct.

Hey Yo Yo, How about some English there:

ETR
STCU
O & T (office and technical)
OLM

Not a big fan of Disneyese!!!!!

Sure thing.
ETR = Electronic Time Recording (the people that pay you if you're not self-pay)
STCU = Service Trades Council Union (union on property that represents a large number of front-line CMs)
OLM = Operating Labor Management (department made up of scheduling, deployment, etr, forcasting and similar)
