overcrowding a room

I'm speaking at a work conference being held at Coronado Springs in Feb. The company is putting me up in a standard conference room at that resort.

But it's hard to pass up trying to force a family vacation out of the deal, too, and benefit from having the room paid for by the company for the sake of the conference.

I have a large family (that won't fit into a single room at Coronado) and it will defeat the purpose of getting a "free" family vacation to rent another room.

So what are the issue's we'll face if we just all squeeze into the room the company is paying for? (Other than that we'll be a tight fit and we'll feel like cheap-skates).

Are you talking about 1 child under 3 otherwise not worth the risk

Thanks Master Yoda and bmarkelon for the replies. We might stay off site (the company will still pay for it) -- we could get an offsite suite for the same price and put the whole family in there and be back to a free vacation.

We've had good luck with award pool homes. House and our own pool. About the same price as a value room.

I have a room booked at POP for August. We have 5 people going, 3 adults, 1 child age 5, and 1 child age 1! I booked all of us and the CM said no problem and requested a pack and play for us. Hopefully this is ok since I was allowed to book this way!

Go offsite. You'll get a condo for the same cost as a room at CSR...probably less. You'll have plenty of room and will be able to chill out.

Disney moderate rooms are pretty small. You'll be much happier in a condo, I think. :)

Well, we went to WDW twice while in college. We crammed a lot of people into a room. It can be done and if you are not overly loud or cause a commotion, they will not know. Now, this is also unsafe for fire reasons. But, I can say if you are creative, friendly, and close, you can put 12 in a moderate resort. We did at Dixie Landings.

I did this the first week of December. You should be given the option of obtaining another room at the discounted convention rate. Also if you are at a convention there should be discounted park tickets also. We were allowed the rates for up to 3 days before the convention and 3 days after the convention. Speak with your company representative. I had an awesome time!!
