last night i went and saw over the hedge......

and lets just say no

it was very dark for a childrens movie and the animation looked a lot like pixars...

the one main lady looked like Elastogirl

and the exterminator looked a lot like al from toy story two....he even had the comb over

heres a comparison
heres another look

there was a bear that constantly talked about killing this racoon and yes he said i will kill you if you dont do this one time

i didnt like it

also it had a whole bunch of subtle right wing inferences in the movie about like gas and large vehicles....

i would advise agains seeing it

How the heck are those right-wing references? :hammer:

If anything, they'd be not-so-subtle LEFT wing jokes about the fact that SUVs are gas-guzzling monstrosities... Not that I think that... :lookaroun

If you're going to be accusing a movie of having a political agenda, at least get its agenda right!!

Furthermore, what does this have to do with a general discussion of WDW??

Ahh, but this is a Walt Disney World discussion forum, not a general Disney forum. I would've reccomended either the Animation, Motion Pictures, TV, Video, and DVD forum or Chit Chat forum for this thread...

edit: wrote the wrong forum name...

These are the pictures that he links to

I think the resemblance between the exterminator and Al couldn't be a coincidence, but I think the woman/Elastigirl is a bit of a stretch...

I saw it, i absolutely loved it, definately the best CG movie Dreamworks has ever released. With all its heart, it almost feels like a Pixar movie.

about this whole sensitivity to the bear saying he will "kill" the racoon, remember, The Evil Queen wanted Snow White DEAD with her heart in a box.

Oh yes let's all hate this movie because it wasn't made by Disney....BTW the Shrek series is better than anything Pixar has ever put out and I love all of the Pixar films.

Uhhh, it was put out by Dreamworks, not Disney.

I kinda half agree with you here. While Dreamworks' movies aren't necessarily on the same level as Disney/Pixar films in terms of overall quality, that doesn't mean they're bad movies. I just saw Over the Hedge and I found it very enjoyable. However, Dreamworks' films are very inconsisent. While Disney could come up with several consecutive quality animated films in a row (or at least they used to) Dreamworks can be hit or miss (they went from Shrek to the downright awful Sharktale) And while I enjoyed Shrek, it is all very gimmick-y (with the heavy emphasis on celebrity voices, pop culture references, etc.) I don't think it will stand the test of time quite like Nemo or The Incredibles will.

Oh, not at all. I thought the animation for Madagascar was kind of ugly, and I also felt that it wasn't all that funny. I love Shrek. It isn't a Disney/Not Disney issue, it's just a matter of personal preference.

Disney will be Disney, Dreamworks will be Dreamworks...one thing though, the marketing they did for this film was better than anything Disney has done in years.

The Wild, was better....

SharkTale and Madagascar were horrible (IMO).

Shrek I & II were very enjoyable but, Dreamworks and Disney aside, they're not up to the quality of the "Top" as far as animation goes, and they're jokes will fall flat as time goes on. That being said, they did the job they needed to do..make a ton of dough right away and give Dreamworks a very recognizable and very marketable character. Shrek is the posterchild of Dreamworks...you won't find that with any of their other releases.

(I left Robots out because I have yet to see that).

I haven't seen Over the Hedge yet but it does look very good and I will be seeing it.
