Staying at Fort Wilderness for 2 weeks this June 2014. Last time we stayed there we just rented their golf carts. But now they are around $65.00 a day now.
Has anyone used an outside company for golf carts, and what has been your experience, good,or bad??

in disney's effort to corral every dollar you own, you are no longer allowed to rent from outside companies. you may bring your own if you own one.
they enforce this strictly, the guard will not let any outside vendors carrying a cart through the gate.

This is true... however there is at least one company that has a work-around for this. Check the FortFiends website for details (http://www.fortfiends.net/_/info/golf-cart-rentals-disney-fort-wilderness-and-r100)

I've used Tee-Time Golf Carts twice now and been very pleased both times. But I have to say, dealing with them is a bit...strange. For example, you make a reservation in...let's say June for December. You get a confirmation and that's all. You can't go anywhere to double-check your reservation or status. But a week or so before you go, Kelly (who's a really nice girl), will call you up and go over all the details with you. Trust me, she WILL call. And the details are a bit weird as well. As I write this, remember that you'll be saving almost half the Disney rate for a nicer golf cart. On the day/time you're to get your cart, you make your way (taxi, private/rental car, whatever) to 12204 S. Apopka Vineland Rd. That's a Shoney's Restaurant. Behind that Shoney's you'll find Kenny (or one of the nice guys who work with him) in a Ford truck with at least one, if not more, golf carts (more on this later). They hand you the keys to their truck and off you go back to Fort Wilderness with your cart. You get to your site, you unload your cart and then you take them their truck/trailer back. On your return day, you reverse the process. Tee-Time can't come inside Fort Wilderness, but you can, so that's how they handle the exchange. Incidentally, Disney security knows all about this process and will not hassle you coming in with the cart. Is it a pain? Absolutely. The whole exchange takes about an hour. But when you consider that you save about $250 a week over the Disney rate, that's a pretty good hourly salary. Now, about the two carts. When you make arrangements with Kelly, they may ask you if you will bring in and unload a second cart at your site for another customer to pick up. This is typical when people fly in or don't have personal transportation. I've done it twice and it's not all that big of a deal. The plus for you is that you get first pick of the two carts. Of course, the plus for the other party is they don't have to do the pickup (I have no idea how they do the return). But after doing it just last week, I may not do this for them again. The second cart took up a lot of room at my site and the other party didn't do the pickup until the next day. Just remember that you may have to have that second cart for awhile (you aren't responsible for it). Tee-Time is a good deal and I'll do it again because of the huge savings. I highly recommend it.

What if you get in a car accident while driving their truck? Who is on the hook for that?

Well, I asked that. Of course, their answer was, "We're insured with full coverage on truck, trailer and golf cart." But as I'm sure you know (because you're asking the question), if you really got into an accident, you'd have your insurance company and theirs both trying to get out of paying. Frankly, I don't know much else they could do. You carry insurance for your vehicle and whoever is driving. But times being what they are, I'm sure it would be a major PITA. Try not to hit anybody. :)
