Our 9/20/13 MNSSH party experience

We entered he park around 5 pm and headed straight to Tony's for our dinner reservations. The kids pizza, the cannelloni and chick parm were wonderful the cioppino was not edible, totally horrible, we had the calamari for the app and no dessert. Headed to POC, then Haunted Mansion then teacups followed by Space Mountain, walked on BL twice before heading out to get some trick or treating done. We trick or treated the line starting at Space Mountain to Pinoccio's when we decided to head over to Casey's to eat and watch the fireworks getting Dole Whips for those that had eaten at Tony's. We could not get a table at over 55 minutes before the fireworks so those of us that did not eat at Tony's had to eat standing up at Casey's with families that had "camped out" for the fireworks. We found a spot at the curb by Tony's to watch the parade, 10 minutes before the parade a cast member escorted 2 adults to stand over our 11 year olds resulting in them moving so we did not enjoy the prime spots we waited over an hour for. After the parade we went and rode BL 2 more times, the people mover and had the pumpkin waffles before dragging ourselves out to the car and heading home. We have done MNSSHP every chance we've had but probably never again. Sitting on the sidewalk for an hour and a half only to have a cast member tell you to stand up and move to accommodate a last minute guest was rude, we won't be doing this again but have 5+ years of wonderful experience before last nights to remember. The fireworks were wonderful as was the parade! Just sharing our experience last night!

Why did they want you to move? Did they give any reason?

Wow, I'm going with Mom on 10/20, hope we don't have a parade experience like that. (although we are usually the ones who just show up 10 minutes before the parade starts LOL)

two questions:
1- how were the pumpkin waffles?
2- what is BL (I'll probably kick myself, but I just can't place it)

I wouldn't have let them moved an inch!!! A hour and a half of waiting!!!! Sorry folks this wolf doesn't move for sheep! Stand up for yourselves, your kids and the time out of your vacation and life!

I warned my wife but she would not listen we showed up 30 minutes prior to the second parade but there was no spot to be foundneedless to say she was very ed off at me for the rest of the night.

45 mins ahead is a must , and you well know that's cutting it close. Sorry you got some tude for being right!

Our last MNSSHP involved waiting an hour for prime spots in Frontierland only to have some woman walk up in front of us and sit down past the line. The CM came along and told her to scoot back past the line. She tried to move her considerable a** backward with no luck. I was not budging. I told her that she knew full well what she was doing and that she could move elsewhere. She kept trying to scoot back and I dug my foot into her back (or butt. It all blended together. :hungover:) and did not move. The CM came back and told her to scoot back again and she complained that I was not letting her. The CM asked me to scoot back and I flat refused. I told her that I was here for an hour now and the woman knowingly came up 10 minutes ago and tried to force her way into a good seat. It was her fault and I am not moving. The CM finally asked the woman to move elsewhere. That's when she tried moving over and back on top of another family. They didn't move either. Finally the woman had to pick her backyard up off the ground and go somewhere else. People actually began to applaud.

When this happens to you.....don't move. :D

I had the same thing happen once at DL for the Christmas parade. I didn't budge either. When the CM said something I did the same thing told them we were there for the last hour and they mad the family move elsewhere.

I guess having 'prime' viewing has not been a priority for us. We've never had an issue with the parade or fireworks. I've enjoyed the fireworks while touring in one of the various lands, as well as from Main Street. The same thing for the parade too; we've walked into the park just as the parade has been approaching Town Square and had perfect viewing, we've walked up along Liberty Square and had a great view, we've even arrived right outside Sleepy Hollow and Ye Olde Christmas about 10 minutes before and had a front row seat (it did get filled after that). We've usually gone to the second parade and enjoyed the empty park during the first.

DAMM RIGHT, Good for you and your family!! I hate hearing about peoples experiences getting ruined by ignorant people!!! Line jumpers, parade hoppers, BTGs, get NO LOVE from me, and at 6ft tall 290lbs and literally covered in tattoos not too many test me, although I'm probably the most laid back person you'll ever meet, when it comes to my money and my priceless time with my family, I'll turn into a beast. Much like my avatar Lambert hahahahahahaha.

God for you! Our last trip we were waiting with lots of other families to watch the villain stage show. People were putting the kids in the middle and adults sitting on the outsides. We followed suit. Right before the show started an older guy about 6-5 in an Iowa hat stood right center front. Parents were nicely saying excuse us, we are here, etc. he replied with a hateful "so!". The crowd groaned. He didn't budge. We watch the show the best we could. At the very end, pleading the 5th, someone with a really hard pack of now and laters pelted him right in the back of the head. Applause from some who saw. That guy was so unmagical :(

No reason, just a cast member telling us to move out so they could shove two additional guests into a space that was already completely full. DH was beyond angry and we decided to not renew our season passes or to go to another MNSSHP again. We are local and go frequently but I guess that is not going to happen for us anymore. DH went and purchased passes for Universal the following day so that will be where our money goes for the next year at least! I am sad Disney valued two other guests more than our family of 5 but that's how the next year will go for sure. We've been robbed by Disney by a few horrible meals we paid for anyway and then this Friday night but we will exercise our rights to choose to spend our money elsewhere and it will be with Universal. City Walk is awesome so no worries. Our youngest is 11, they will love Universal as much as Disney. Besides, Disney knows there will just be more customers that will take our place so all is golden for both this family and Disney, NO WORRIES!

I don't believe that they only sell 10000 tickets.

Were you guys dressed up? I was dressed up as Troy Polamalu.[/quote}

They twins were Luke and Princess Leia, my daughter has SUPER long hair and she wore it in the huge buns Leia wore in the movie, we had at least a dozen people ask permission to take pictures of her hair and literally 50 or more people ask us if that was her real hair. During the parade the fellow playing Captain Jack Sparrow looked directly at our son and made some crazy hand signs telling him he was da' bomb! They were totally flattered to have so much attention from the guests at the party. The oldest was dressed as Dorothy from Wizard Of Oz and she had a ton of compliments as well. Her dress was rather short (in our opinion) but she's a college student and will be wearing this costume at her sorority party next month.

When my DD was small we had her in one of those metal Disney Strollers, waiting for parade in Frontierland.
Minutes before the parade started a CM finding a spot for a woman in a DisneyWheelchair backed her chair into the front of my DD stroller and rolled her and the stroller back. As soon as CM cleared the line with the wheelchair he hightailed it out of there.

Result my DH had pull DD out of the stroller and hold her for the entire parade or she'd be looking at the back of a wheelchair. My DD is now 21. So this type move by CMs has been going on for a long, long time. Thinking that was the last time we ever waited to see a parade.

I wouldn't move. I swear to God they would have to call the Orange County Sheriff's Department on me before I moved. :jawdrop: There are other places for them to park their "late" guests. Not in front of me if I have a seat on the line.

Awesome. I was Troy Polamalu, my son was the assassin from asassassins creed and my wife and daughter were dancing ghosts. I'll put up a picture when we get home on Sunday.
