Other resort facilities

Are we allowed to use the resort facilities of a resort we are not staying at? We will be at the CR this fall, but I would love to go and see the refurbised pool at CB resort(and maybe take a dip there.) Just wondering if this is frowned upon or not? Thanks.

Off topic but relates...

Can off property guests have lunch at the one of the resorts? I will be staying in a timeshare in Orlando but want to eat lunch or dinner at several of the resorts? What do I have to do?

Anyone can eat, shop or sightsee at the hotels. You may need to make a reservation, but if you don't just let the guard at the shack know you are there to eat. If you have an ADR then your name will be on the list and you may have to show ID.

Rule-of-thumb is that if you're going to the hotel for an activity that you have to pay for, you're more than welcome to (Disney won't turn down money). This includes restaurants, bars, boat rentals, fitness centers, bike rentals and a bunch of stuff they offer at Fort Wilderness. Walking around and looking at the hotel is OK, too. (Because it might spur you to want to stay there in the future)

Resort features that are "free" like pools, volleyball, tennis courts, etc enters a *very* grey area......
