Occasionally, the Studios will hold previews of the Lights before the official start date. It's likely that they won't be dancing, but you might have a shot at seeing the lights toward the end of your vacation.

However, on another page it says they start on 11/13/06! 2006!!! so maybe they will be starting on the 13 november?

Sucks for my family who leave on 12th!

My daughter got engaged at the Olights on Nov 13 2006. They are going back this year for their honeymoon at the same time and were looking forward to seeing were they got engaged again. They will be so disappointed.....:(

Although the lights are up and on before Thanksgiving every year, don't they officially start after Thanksgiving when all the other Christmas stuff starts?

When I read the headline I was afraid they weren't going to have them at all. We love them, luckily we are going December 2nd thru the 9th so will get to see them.

Nope, the official start date last year was Nov. 12.

I'm a bit surprised that Disney is doing this. Since when do they scale back extremely popular events? It'll be interesting to see how this affects the attendance at DHS, because the park always gets much, much busier at night once the lights are up.

A possible reasone for this is that the 28 is the day after Thankgiving, this is when they start "Holidays Around The World", and I beleave that is when they also begin the "Tree Lighing" ceremonies, so they are probably just lining events up with each other.

DHS will have a larger than normal draw for a while with TSM, so crowds are not going to be an issue. I think the bigger factor is the continued rising cost of energy. As another poster said, they are likely synching with other holiday events and getting to cut some expense banking that TSM will pull crowds in.

Someone from another site is stating that Disney has listed "late dates" in years past and then added the earlier Nov dates once they knew the Osbourne lights were good to go and would be ready.

Don't want to promote something and then not have it available.

That doesn't sound right. Allears.net just says it starts mid Nov to mid January. Last year we were there from 11/11-11/17... and on the 13th we went to DHS and saw the light show.

Yeah I was there Nov. 11-17 last year as well and saw them. That doesn't seem too early to me  We'll be going Nov.16-22 this year so hopefully we'll get to see them again this year :xmas:
