Osborne touring?

I would really to see the lights come on. I've heard it's packed but I'd still like to see it. What time do they switch lights on? Is it the same time every night? Is it posted somewhere? I saw the lights two years ago and despite asking a Cast Member what time to be there I missed it, they were already on and in full swing by the time I was there.

6pm for the switch on.

I'm wondering if crowds will initially be thin(ner) because of Fantasmic starting at 6:30pm when I'm there (11/30). Just saw Fantasmic about a month ago and would rather just see the lights come on, and hang out meandering the streets and looking at the lights.

Thanks everyone! So... would you be on the streets around 5:30ish?

Sounds like a good plan. As for me, I'm hopping over to HS from AK on 11/30. Was thinking about seeing Indiana Jones at 5:15. It gets out at 5:45 so I would need to hot foot it over there before the lighting. Or skip out of the show early.

FWIW ~ The lights were turned on at 5:50 pm last night, the earliest we have ever experienced and we have been attending the turn-on for years.

@JohnD you might not make it in time if you are coming from Indy. However, there are "dancing light" songs that begin with most off the lights off anyway, so it's a similar effect.

The 6:30 Fantasmic show did not seem to have an effect on the Osborne crowd, the area was packed as usual.

Interesting. Appreciate the on-site report.

We've been to them twice. The first time we waited until they had been on for a while to head over, just to go when the initial crowds were thinned out. That worked out great. The second time, we were there for the lighting. More crowds, but we really liked being there for the lighting. I would probably choose being there for the lighting if I was doing it again. :)

You know. I think I've seen Indy enough times already. I'll probably just hop over to HS, make a beeline for HBD Lounge. Grab a quick bite for dinner and head over to the lighting. It's EMH until 10pm on 11/30 anyway. Use kiosks for any FP+ available until 8. Hop on whatever I want between 8-10. Take my time viewing the lights.
