Osborne Spectacle of Lights

We are planning a trip around the first of December. Planning on MVMCP and hopefully seeing the light spectacular. Is the light spectacle good? How can Christmas lights not be, but an opinion would help. I know the MVMCP will be great. The halloween party was. Please help with advice! Thanks. :wave:

Both the Osbourne lights and MVMCP are great. I have not seen the lights since they were on residential street so I can only predict what they will be like, they used to give you some 3D glasses that would turn each individual point of light into a fairy or a snowflake or something and they would sell cookies and hot chocolate. MVMCP is really cool, make sure you spend your time doing and seeing all the events that only take place at the parties, they often have rare characters out, and have various christmas shows on and the parade. You do the attractions too but you can do those any day!

MCMCP is a lot of FUN and I highly recommend it.

It sounds like you've never seen the lights at MGM before. If that's the case, prepare to be blown away. Some argue that they lost their charm when they moved from a residential setting to the city setting (a necessity since residential street on the backlot with its houses of old 80's TV shows was flattened to bring in the highly popular LMA stunt show). I would tend to agree with that argument; however, I thought the lights last year in their new setting were just as magical as before. Especially considering that you have nothing to compare it to, you will be amazed. It is the one Christmas event of all the ones presented at Disney that I think every person should see (but I'm a sucker for Christmas lights too :lol: )

My family and I are going to the Magic Kingdom on Christmas Day, then the other parks in the days after.

Does anyone know If MVMCP is held on Christmas Day? We are not planning on going to it and don't want to be kicked out of the park so that MVMCP can take place. lol

Ohhh Yahhh the Lights are great... spend some time going through the WDWMagic pages for Christmas at WDW and in particular Osborne Lights both great resources.

You may want to add in the Candlelight processional to your holiday visit.

If this is your first WDW Christmas trip please don't limit your holiday tours to the parks though. The resorts themselves offer thier own forms of spectaulars. The GF has a holiday gingerbread store that is made of gingerbread, Christmas trees and display in each resort some of these amazing on thier own accord. It really is Christmas Around the World.

The last MVMCP this year will be on December 20th.

Hi Firewolfe51 Iam going to be there Dec 4 going to MVMCP on the 6 it is a lot of
fun I did it 2 years ago I had a great time I hope you have your tickets.
You will love the cookies and hot chocolate. At DISNEYMGM there are the Osborne lights over 5 million of them. Just to be at WDW at Christmas is great this year will
be my 23 of going to WDW 20 at Christmas time I think it's the best time of year.

It is amazing and I took a Picture with no flashat night and it can out. It's the best time of year not to hot and not to cold just right.

I just hope they have the traffic flow in and out of it a little bit better planned this year. Last year was a nightmare. The light show, while good, was scarcely worth all the pushing and shoving and standing in line to get into the area where the lights were.

I will be there that week as well, and attending the party on the 6th!

that is great Aurora23 I can't wait to go to MVMCP here is a tip when you go for
your hot chocolate ask for four they will give it to you.

We saw them last year too. We had just gotten out of Muppet Vision about 45 minutes before the lights went on, so we just hung around New York Street before the lights went on, so we weren't in the crowds trying to get to New York Street. Can't wait to see them again this year! :xmas:
