Orlando's High Speed Rail (SunRail) Given Go-Ahead by Florida Gov. Rick Scott

It would make it easier, but I don't think it would necessarily cause more people to venture to Sea World or Universal. It's not like it's really that hard for them to get off property now. It would just save those people money instead of paying $50 to take a cab.
While the actual actions are not difficult, the cost is a part of what deters people from actually leaving. This is why I think Disney was just fine with high speed rail and its higher ticket prices, but would be against conventional rail and its significantly lower ticket prices.

This isn't a high speed rail. Trains are 19th century, not 21st century.

That's a monster "if."

Well, if a "monster if" is people using the train, then I'd take those chances. And I don't think that's monstrous by any means.

Hundreds of temporary jobs.

Okay.... I guess in your opinion if it's not a long term job then it doesn't count. :brick:

...and hurt the businesses that relied on commuter/vehicular transportation.

It can only help businesses by stations, and I'd bet my life it wouldn't hinder any businesses "that rely on commuter/vehicular transportation' because apparently the stations aren't that far apart. It would take many cars off the road though, which is a great thing.

That may or may not be true, but I don't see more people flocking away from Disney than people currently do. Anybody that hops on a rail to get away from Disney is already looking for ways to get away from Disney. Unless they're a Florida resident, its not like the tickets for Sea World or Universal will be cheaper (they're the same price, well not yet, but they will).

I don't see more people staying off property either. There are already buses that run from I-Drive all the way to the Disney area. Guests take Lynx 8 from their I-Drive hotels and connect with Lynx 50 at Sea World. Lynx 50 takes them straight to the Transportation and Ticket center. While a train would make that trip faster, I don't think it would necessarily effect hotels much. If anything, it would make it easier for people staying at I-Drive hotels to get over to Disney. A train will hurt taxis and car rental companies more than Disney or its hotels.
