I just wanted to share that the Gentleman that bought and restored one of the original people mover cars (Yellow #10) has a display at the LA county fair this year with the original control panel that you can see up close. I believe it was exhibit hall #7. He did a incredible job I spoke with him (cannot remember his name) for quite a time and he was very nice to share stories and how Bob Gurr helped him with restoring his car. We also talked in depth on tomorrow land and other stories. Also next to his display is an original Red Autotopia body from the early 80's. He is very willing to chat with you on Disney if you have the time. I took a couple of photos but unfortunately I do not know how to post photos on this site.

If you happen to be going to the fair this year this is a must to see and I suggest to get there early in the day before the crowds show it does get crowded mid day and afternoon.

Last month I was lucky enough to get a preview of the Popnology exhibit which the People Mover vehicles are apart of. I was able to snap a picture of the vehicles on my way out but my phone was on black and white!

There will be a few other Disneyland reference in this exhibit including a custom model of the Monsanto House of the Future which I designed and built. Please check it out if you go to the fair!

The link below lists some of the other Popnology exhibit highlights. When I was there last month it was still being set up but it looked pretty cool. There were some really cool props and displays. & if you can't make the fair, I believe the exhibit will be traveling to the Arizona Science Center after the fair wraps up.

I believe these were also on display at this years D23 Expo.
I saw the People Mover vehicles on display, complete with flashing lights enabled and on-ride audio playing.
It was really cool and they looked beautiful.
Nearby next to them was the control panel.

A neat bonus for fans was that the owner actually allowed Expo attendees to sit in them to relax, take photos of themselves, or just sit and reminisce listening to the audio playing.
It was quite a neat display.

The red Autopia car was also on display in front of another booth, rotating on a display table.

I believe the Autopia car at D23 was part of the Walt Disney Hometown Museum booth. They are currently trying to reinstall the original Midget Autopia which was donated to the city of Maceline by Walt himself after it was removed from Disneyland. You can read about it in the links below and even fund it on kickstarter. They unfortunately have a long ways to go. I guess most people will never travel to Marceline and get to appreciate the amazing piece of Disneyland history.
