To be honest, IASW is a DISNEYLAND classic. Disney World's is a shell of the former pandering to squeeze the attraction in. I would feel totall different if Ariel's Grotto was replaced with a full blown version of awesomeness that the original is.

Point I was making is IASW exists in every single Disney park around the globe in one form or another, so it is well known worldwide. The original JII existed only in Epcot and has been extinct for well over 10 years, trying to compare the 2 is like comparing apples and oranges they aren't even in the same class as far as attractions. I could see if they had a JII in every Disney park then scrapped them all around the same time, but that's not the case here. Most people will not even know what the original JII looked like, much less who Dreamfinder was.

Figment: Figment is meant to be the literal embodiment of the phrase "figment of the imagination". He is composed of various elements Dreamfinder found in his travels including two tiny wings, large yellow eyes, the horns of a steer, a crocodile's snout, and the childish delight found at a birthday party.

"Two tiny wings, eyes big and yellow, horns of a steer, but a lovable fellow. From head to tail, he's royal purple pigment, and there, voila, you've got a Figment."

not a dragon or a dinosaur

As seen in my signature. I think he mostly resembled a dragon, hence my screen name.

I understand you point, but just important is the fact that for many guests under the age of 10, Imagination used to be the only worthwile attraction that spoke to them.

Good point. But I was just stating that if you take a poll on the matter, most people will pick IASW over original JII as their ride preference because its what they know, mainly because the limited access to JII due to it only being in a single park. Also I think anyone under the age of 20 will not have ever experienced the attraction during its hay day (at least that they would remember), so that further skews the results. :hammer:

Sure, and I have no right answer. That's why I picked IASW of all attractions. Parially to challenge the Figment lovers to their core. It is a hard choice. If I didnot visit DL every 3-4th Disney trip, I may vote the other way.

I picked original JII, because it was one of my favorite rides in WDW growing up, I always made a point of riding it at least twice per visit. Also the theme song to IASW is such shear torture that it makes me want to shove steel pikes in my ears till they bleed. While the attraction may be loved world wide by many people, I am not a fan simply because of the awful song. But I will still ride it for my kids if they ask me to.

Really? I've been on both IASW and Disneyland's seems alot more closed in. You are basically in a stream the same size as the boat with the scenes right next to you. WDW's is surrounded with water. DL's has many scenes on just one side of the boat, but WDW's has a scene on both sides. Plus most of the "extended ride" part is the outside area. The facade at WDW isn't as good as DL's but atleast it's cohesive to the whole land, and we have a very nice looking design inside that looks like DL's outside.

As a Kid, Figment was always my favorite Disney Parks character. I had the Hand Puppet my parents bought me on my first trip for years.

I finally got to see the new JII on Sunday before the rain made me decide to call it a day and head back to the hotel. I literally walked right up to the ride train and had it all to myself, and it was (until I saw the awful shape Tiki Room is in) my biggest disappointment this trip. The only thing I liked was the intro to the finale, but then the finale was so lackluster, it was still a disappointment.

Small World is a Disney Classic, but I have never been too attached to it. I did ride it twice this week, because my cousin has four favorites he must ride everyday he's here, and Small World is the last on his list.

This is WDW Fanboyism.

DL's has it scenes on both sides. I thought DL's was better. The atmosphere, the outside loading, the fascade, the entire ride in general, felt more put together. Even with the Disney characters added.

I like WDW better than DL, for reasons that could take me pages to describe, but there are a few rides that I find much more appealing at DL. IASW is one of them.

Sorry, you can't touch Small World. Never. It has too much nostalgia to get rid of for that reason alone. Also, remember this, we have all been on it. Think about the kid - or even adult - who rides it for the first time. They've never seen a ride quite like that. Even as a grown man a guilty pleasure of mine is being captivated by Small World

The characters at DL are a dream come true. Really something amazing.

I voted IASW, because that ride is the one that is the most nostalgic to me, I remember riding it my whole life, and I'm still hooked on it, while I never went to EPCOT until I was 10, which was way after the re-furb.

Really? I went on it once on both of my trips to DL, and I could have sworn during my first trip that I only saw character on one side, in different scenes though. Like a scene would be on the left, without anything on the right, and then it would be on the right without anything on the left. I absolutely love DL's iasw, and agree it's better, but I didn't think everything the OP said was accurate. Like it feeling bigger inside or being much longer. I love both WDW and DL anyway.
