Orbit One or Orange Lake?

We can't decide between Orbit one and Orange Lake. Has anyone been to either or both? We have stayed in OL and liked it but are keen to try somewhere else. Orbit one looks good, and we have read some good reviews on tripadvisor, but don't know if it is as good as OL. And is it gated? I feel safer in a gated resort.

My DH and I are owners at Orange Lake. That being said, I would recommend Orange Lake. I don't know how long it's been since your last visit but they have opened the new water complex called River Island. We spend some time there during our stay this past June. It is very nice. There is a lazy river and a couple of slides. The east gate is open 24/7 now so if your villa is in the east village you can use that gate for easier access.

I am not familiar with the Orbit property but perhaps there's someone in the forums who can give you some info on it. Whatever you decide, I hope you have a wonderful trip! :wave:

If you go to http://www.rci.com/RCIW/, you could check and compare the various amenities of each resort. Just go to the resort directory and into the advanced search...just type in the name of the resort.

I've owned at Orange Lake since 1982 but like to stay at other resorts in the area just to mix it up. Access to WDW is always a plus and OLCC is located in a spot where you can avoid major traffic congestion by using Black Lake Road to Sherberth. That takes you onto the Disney property right at the entrance to the Animal Kingdom. They've put a new highway right down the center of the resort but I don't know how or if it affects those people in the East Village. We own in the West Village and it doesn't bother us.

Although we didn't try it, you can jump on the new highway near OLCC on RT192 and jump off an exit or two up which takes you onto the Disney property. But, you may have to pay a toll...I think it's $1.
