Opening WDW with Social Distancing

In the Parks
No
When theme parks had hand santizer locations spread throughout the theme parks in early March, there were reports from members that multiple locations were already depleted on sanitizer. Good points. If we can't find hand sanitizer in the grocery stores, does WDW have the magic touch to have an abundance?
Use E85. It finally may have a logical purpose :)

I’ll say it, and continue to say it, the things you mention are ridiculous. WDW is never reopening with all the restrictions you listed.
It's not about the restrictions mentioned, it's you having a hard time to accept that that is the new normal temporarily. Don't go then but don't be a Karen downer and act like you decide on when and how to open the parks (roll eyes)

People hate change as evidenced by the responses here. It's not that hard to adapt if you wholeheartedly accept it, which most people can't.

very true the only thing we know for fact and agree is we all want Disney open again.
Not only do I want Disney to open but for Orlando to successfully open to. There is no economic success for Orlando without WDW. If it doesnt, it would make the 2008 recession where many lost their jobs and homes look like nothing.

The cheerleading worlds and summit combined are happening on June 19th so it’s pretty safe to say Disney will be somewhat open by then and without social distancing as social distancing is impossible for both the sport as it’s close contact and the huge crowd

This isn't true, at least as I write this. The event is currently postponed and while they want to try to have it at the end of June they have yet to announce a decision. They're supposed to make the decision to either go forward at the end of June or cancel it completely for the year or possibly do a "virtual" World Championship. See: https://hub.usasf.net/covid19-worlds-update.

If they announce they're moving forward, then you're likely correct that it will be an indicator that WDW expects to be open at that time, but I'm not sure that says much about social distancing. In any case, we should know today.

Well I guess we will just wait and see if the parks open with numerous ridiculous social distancing restrictions, or they don’t reopen until they can return for the most part to the “old normal”.

There is no chance that the parks will be opening up by June no matter how bad this group wants it.
I really hope you’re right for the sake of all the gyms and staff that would have to be there , because simply put it would be a health hazard to have this event.

Disney will not open when there is a HUGE risk of a very large and sizable amount of people getting coronavirus on their property. It would be PR nightmare that would be difficult to recover from.

Back right before the closure the UCA event happened and resulted in several covid-19 cases but yet they still went ahead despite the huge risk , hopefully this time they will come to their senses

If Disney doesn't decide to open up the parks by then, they'll have to cancel by default. They want to go through with it, but it doesn't mean it will happen.

Seems to be an unpopular opinion at this point. I stand with you, though. It's so important to let the economy get going again... carefully and gradually of course, and encouraging those in high risk groups to continue social distancing.

2008/09 is already going to look like a church choir compared to what is waiting for us all. We'll long for those days. The country didn't shut down back then. It isn't going to be pretty, but the sooner they rid everyone of social distancing and get things open again the better it will be. The longer it goes on, the worse it will be with every passing day. None of this "guilty until proven innocent" crap anymore. Open the country up and let the people decide what to do, the government's job is to serve the people, not the other way around.

I’m not sure I would go to that extreme just yet. I think governments can play a part in mitigating emergencies, but there needs to be gradual reopening. Even Europe has been reopening. The point of the lockdowns was to keep hospitals from becoming overwhelmed. By and large, hospitals have not been overwhelmed to the extent that they can’t treat coronavirus patients. Even in New York. A little kudos to the American people for that. But the goalpost can’t be “lockdown until we have a vaccine.” It just can’t be. It’s not a guarantee there will be a vaccine.
