Open past closing... please explain

Where can a person get good, specific information about which rides / attractions / character greetings, etc are still "open" past the posted "closing" time???

I'm specifically curious about Epcot, but knowing this for all the parks might be helpful.

Regarding Epcot, how long can you visit the different nations' pavilions in the World Showcase area past closing time? We especially want to see the train set at the Germany pavilion. Also, can a person get into Turtle Talk with Crush and/or the Three Caballeros ride AFTER "closing" time???

Also, is it possible to stay so late in the park that you can't get transportation back to an on-site resort? How late do the busses run?

Thanks for helping me out, and pardon my ignorance on so many things Disney. I've been once before, but we had NO clue what we were doing 10 years ago (our honeymoon) and learned later that we missed out on several things simply because we didn't know nearly enough in advance. We still enjoyed it, though -- but we want to make this 10th anniversary trip (the first for the kids) extra special.

They don't permit boarding any rides after official park closing. If it's an Extra Magic Hour night, certain attractions will be open an additional 2 hours to resort guests.

As for World Showcase, you can continue to walk around the public spaces, but shops, rides, shows and restaurants will close at park closing.

Thanks for the reply, Tom! If your sig line is correct, then you might want to get some GOOD sleep now while you have a chance! Congrats on BEING a father -- you're one already! I hope and pray all goes well with the delivery.

as soon as all guests have exited they will close the doors. it may be 10 min it may be one hour( one hour at the most is the goal). for example if no one is in the confectionery they will close and lock the doors while the hat shop next door may still be open. Think of all the cm who are waiting for park to clear. Please do not stay on purpose and keep everyone there. There are managers to cm to watercraft to buses to parking people who have to wait for park clear to start closing. The rides close at park close. they will start clearing the park at the back and walk their way forward. if you stay to long all the cm and mgrs will come stand by you and start asking do you need help? can we take your purchases to the register?

Yes, please think of the CM's that have been on their feet all day long and want to get home. You have no place to be, but, for all you know, they may have to be back to open the next day. Have some courtesy and clear out as soon as you can, the world doesn't revolve around you.

My understanding is that they don't allow any new people to join the queue after official park closing, but that they continue running the rides until all people in the queue ride.

Correct. I worded it poorly. They close the QUEUES at park closing, then cycle through.

That's absolutely correct. A day at the park is not complete unless I'm sprinting to my last ride a minute before closing.
We ran from Space Mt at 12:57am and made it through all the people and in line for Peter Pan by 12:59am on a 1am EMH day :p Don't think your day is over because the park closes in (for example) 15-20 minutes...you could get one or two rides in easily!

I'm always confused about future world. Sometimes rides there close early (7 pm) when the rest of the park closes at 9. Is this spelled out anywhere? Maybe this is no longer done.

What about MK? Is it true that the Main St shops stay open after official park closing time?

I did find it interesting that MK shops seem to never close their doors until the entire area is cleared of guests, but this year, they did have some doors shut as we were leaving and there were still good crowds on main st. We were there mid May.

It makes sense, but I wonder if it is much hassle with employees.

I think, technically, the Future World hours are still 9-7, with WS being 11-9.

Impressive! I've done a lot of experimenting with this at DLP.

My proudest moment was when I was the last one on Phantom Manor and I didn't even have a clock on me to know I was the last one. Then there was the Saturday I ran from Indiana Jones through central plaza (their hub) while everyone was waiting for Dreams, to Space Mountain (which is just about as far apart as you can get) in about 5 minutes. Of course Space Mountain was closed, but I'm still proud of it :) .

Yes. Attractions with special operating hours are listed in the Times Guide.

FW used to be 9-7, with select attractions staying open later until 9. They changed the language a few year back to FW staying open until 9 with select acttractions closing early.
