Onward - Pixar's latest flop?

They are going to have to poor a lot into it. At this time, outside of the obvious licensed merch at chain stores and online orders, Disney Plus is the only real source of income for Disney.

Seems like a lot of people liked it, I was not a fan to be honest.

It was pretty forgetful in the grand scheme of things, and a bit sloppy. Certainly not the worst, and I really liked Tom Hollands character. But I found myself barely laughing, and at times losing interest. And as much as I love Chris Pratt, his character was annoying, and down right inconsiderate.

I'm sure timing is partly down to the low attendance in theatres, but if someone asked me if it's worth seeing, I'd simply tell them just watch it on Disney +.

I'm still very optimistic about Soul though. :)

I'm hearing that the box office for this weekend indicates that my comparison of Onward to Good Dinosaur might, unhappily, be all too accurate...

when you say box office, does than mean anything today? I haven’t left the house, but are the movie houses even open? My family will surely watch it free in Disney + since due to corona they put it up there.

Watched the movie last night. I thought it was ok. Not the best or worst Pixar movie. It was pretty mediocre overall. The Dad stuff really hit me hard though. I still feel Finding Nemo and Finding Dory dealt with that type of emotional plot a lot better.

I think the thing that disappointed me about Onward is that it was around my expectations, and they weren't high. I'm used to Pixar making films going above my expectations, but to be fair, it's not like every film from them is going to be like that.
