Online Check-In started?

I didn't ask specifically yesterday when I talked to a fabulous and very informative CM. But she said that all systems which were supposed to be up and running were delayed and still in progress. Everything from ADR, to new website, etc. So my guess is, since it is the "online" check in system, and nothing, not one of their new on line items is working properly, it is not up yet. And she had no completion date, or any idea when everything will be up and running. :wave:

We leave in less than a week, and I was hoping to make room (or actually building) requests for our stay at POR. Wanna be close to the main building and bus stop.

If this service is not up and running, what would be the ideal time to call and make our room preferences known? I have read somewhere that if you ask when you make your reservations, that information might not be passed on down to the desk CM's.

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

You want to make your room requests known when making your reservations. The resorts will not take any special requests made by faxing or calling the resorts directly. (calls are directed to the reservation center faxes hit the trash). Call 407-934-7639 ASAP and add any requests that you have. The issue that you mentioned...requests not passed on...happens only when changing your reservation. Whenever you change your reservation (ie add days, subtract days etc) you should always have them read back your room requests to make sure they followed your reservation changes.

I have ALWAYS faxed my special requests (building, floor, birthday, etc) 5 days before I arrive. They have always honored my faxed request. I always "jazz" up the fax with decorations (even though it's in black & white) to make it stand out. I've never had a problem with sending a fax. And I KNOW they read them & note them, because I did not tell the reservations people about a request one time and I got what I asked for on the fax. Try it anyway. If you're nice in your request, they should do it for you. Just don't "demand" anything. Maybe that's when they "dump them in the trash".

Just spoke with Emilio at the number recommended above, and he has "hooked us up". He was very polite and patient while I ran through my list of preferred buildings at POR (14, 15, 18 or Oak Manor). He said that I can check my on-line reservations in about 24 hours and I should see the notes added to the page!

Just because the notes and REQUESTS are on the reservation doesn't mean that you will get one of the buildings you request.

People (not you in particular) seem to think any REQUEST they make means it's a GUARANTEE, when it isn't and then get upset when their requests aren't honored.
