Online Check-in and more than 1 reservation

Hi, I had to book a one night only at the beginning of my trip here in May and then I have a seperate reservation for the remainder of the trip. Staying at same resort-Pop.
Would you recommend doing online check in for just the first night-the one night only, or should I for both reservations? I had Disney "link" them up so I can be in the same room hopefully. I know you have to go back down to the front and get new room keys so I didn't know if online check in would be helpful for the 2nd reservation or just mess things up. Thanks for your help

I am not positive how the online check in system would handle a split stay at the same resort. Because of this, I would do online for the 1st and regular for the second. It might work just fine if you did both online, but I would want a set of human eyes on the second reservation to avoid having to move rooms.

This happened to us in Jan. Same thing with our rooms being linked......online only lets you do the one. Can't remember for sure but I think the deal was that once we were in the room then I could go online and do the other one. I don't take a computer so I just ended up doing it at the desk the next morning.

we had the same situation in August. We did online for the 1st then ran down the next orning and checked in again.. got our new cards ( with our dining and park tickets on them)..took about 5 minutes tops.
