Whirlpool: you board a yellow submarine, are sucked into a whirlpool, and find yourself in the Marina Trench, where you see deep water sea life, and marvel at the utter silence and desolation at the bottom of the ocean. Suddenly, you encounter the kraken, who chases you in a cat-and-mouse chase, until another whirlpool pulls the yellow submarine to the surface and you live to tell the tale. The ride system will be a highly advanced simulator that moves, and gives each guest their own porthole, like the original Submarine Voyage.

edit: will be a replacement for Nemo and The Seas in EPCOT

Bonus: Desolation: an animated documentary, would depict life at the bottom of the ocean in a existential manner, as a work of surreal animation.

Le Voyages Extraordinaires

An omnimover in Discoveryland in Disneyland Paris

Amazing Journeys is based on a new Pixar short about a boy named Jules, who runs away from home because of a rough upbringing (in France during the early 1800’s). In his mind him and his imaginary friend Figment go on an adventure, using only his imagination. He goes 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea in a Yellow Submarine, To the Center of the Earth encountering Dinosaurs, Around the World in an Air Balloon and From the Earth to the Moon in a Rocketship.

figment_chasing_fear_by_juanpadraws_delh2j0-fullview.jpg

Bonus: Figment would have several other new Pixar Shorts as well, where he meets Dreamfinder and the emotions from Inside Out.

"Disney Meet the Beatles"

It finally happened - Robert Iger announced today that The Walt Disney Company has purchased The Beatles in perpetuity, finally allowing theme park attractions based on the Fab Four to exist around the globe. First up, a hastily-put-together meet-and-greet officially titled Disney Meet The Beatles, in which you get to take pictures and interact with the Beatles within, what else, a Yellow Submarine (which, in a bid for the nostalgic folks out there, is the last remaining 20,000 Leagues submarine, exhumed from its watery grave at Castaway Cay for its new, much more profitable venture). Of course the most logical place for this attraction is Epcot, where you can meet the Beatles in World Nature (🤔).

BONUS: Disney creates a "Live-Action Remake" (CGI, entirely digitally animated) of the Beatles' film Yellow Submarine.

-Challenge-

Create a new Disney attraction that features what else, but a Yellow Submarine. It can be the ride vehicle, part of an attraction backstory, featured within the set(s) of the attraction, or as simple as a toy in the gift shop that ties into whatever you create. However you use it is entirely up to you. Have fun with it.
Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring the Beatles
1728944836494.png
Rock 'n' Roller Coaster gets its long-awaited retheme featuring one of the most (if not THE most) beloved British rock bands of all time! The rethemed coaster allows guests to step back in time and meet John, Paul, George, and Ringo before hopping aboard stretch limos and taking a topsy-turvy ride through a psychedelic world very reminiscent of Yellow Submarine (and yes, the submarine from that movie does indeed make an appearance) accompanied by the Beatles' songs. It's all in the mind, y'know?

Goofy’s Sandwich Scramble!

1728947350536.gif

Coming soon to Toontown, Goofy searches for the perfect sandwich to snack on! Entering through Goofy’s house, guests board an indoor Whip ride, surrounded by projection mapping showing the countryside in the style of Runaway Railway and the Rudish cartoons, with Goofy’s yellow-tinted submarine sandwich in the center of the ride. When the ride begins, the sandwich is flung about the area by the speed of the ride, and Goofy must scramble to save his scrumptious sandwich before it is smushed!

Bonus:

Thanks to its popularity, a new short film in the Rudish style will be produced, based on the story of this ride!

Expedition Atlantis

1728968170764.png
This epic E-ticket adventure, the headliner of a new DisneySea park (location TBD), takes guests deep beneath the surface in golden submarines in search of the fabled lost civilization of Atlantis. A spiritual successor to both Disneyland’s original Submarine Voyage and EPCOT’s Living Seas, the Expedition plusses, or expands, upon those attractions with techniques such as - but not at all limited to - dry-for-wet windows, more advanced Audio-Animatronics (including one of a fierce kraken), and blacklit bioluminescent environments.
Bonus
An animated short, starring some of the creatures featured in the attraction, will precede whatever is Walt Disney Animation Studios’ newest film by the time of the park’s opening.

Great idea!

If any rock band deserves a ride it's "The Beatles". They are so great that they have remained relevant for over a half century. Plus I'd love to get some merch with Mickey, Donald and Goofy as "The Beatles".

Aquatic Wonders of the Galaxy
1729027115523.jpeg

Many guests have complained that Galaxy’s Edge is lacking a 3rd attraction that would complete the land, well this new expansion south of the land will hold it’s newest attraction, welcome to the most exotic and exciting seas in the galaxy. Guests will first go through an adventure outpost before they enter into one of 10 submarines that seat 20 people in each one to avoid the poor capacity in other submarine attractions. This attraction will visit several different underwater environments from around the Star Wars galaxy, from the clear waters of Naboo to ruins of the second Death Star, this attraction offers many different encounters with different species of underwater creatures (A yellow submarine is sold in the gift shop, I will explain no further).
1729027079069.jpeg

Bonus:

Opening with the attraction is a Lego animation where Jar Jar explores the many different planets while somehow avoiding death several times.

Track 1
Yellow Submarine

Who wouldn't want to live in a Yellow Submarine? Released in 1966, Yellow Submarine was a bit of a quirky song, one of many we'll see this season, and our inspiration for our first challenge. The Beatles were always trying new things, and Yellow Submarine was no different with the band themselves producing many of the sound effects on the track.

View attachment 820581

The theme park world has its own Yellow Submarine in the form of the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage at Disneyland. While not nearly as iconic as The Beatles, it nonetheless exists, and is a regular "rumored for replacement" attraction. What would we do without the Yellow Submarine though?

-Rules-

  • Your attraction can be placed at any of the Disney theme parks around the world, either replacing Nemo at Disneyland, or as a new build at WDW, Paris, etc. on land, sea or air
  • All Disney intellectual properties in/out of the parks, or attainable properties, are fair game for use if needed
  • You may use between 1 to 3 sentences and up to 1 image.
  • No AI generated artwork, writing, or assistance in the brainstorming process is allowed

-Deadline-
This project is due on Saturday, October 19th at 11:59 PM WDW Time
(8:59 PM Disneyland Time)
5ish days from now

-Tips-

K.I.S.S. – Keep it simple, silly. Try not to complicate or overthink things too much. It’s a simple, casual competition – there are no eliminations. Propose as you please, let your imagination soar!

-Judging Criteria-
Is it creative?
Is it (generally) realistic?
Does it fit thematically/visually?

BONUS: Pitch an animated film to be released after the opening of your attraction

Two years after the release of Yellow Submarine, an animated film The Beatles: Yellow Submarine would be released as The Beatles 4th film, though they had very little input compared to earlier works. Use your animated film to bring to the big screen an enhanced story of your attraction, a continuation, or something entirely unique and off the wall. You can use up to one extra sentence and image.

Mr. Ray’s School Of Fish

IMG_0544.jpeg

Mr. Ray’s School Of Fish is a new interactive darkride (using a mix of Monsters Inc. Ride & Go Seek & Peter Pan’s Flight) located in EPCOT in the near expansion pad in between The Land and Seas With Nemo & Friends Pavilions. The ride is about Mr. Ray & Nemo inviting us to an exploration scavenger hunt in the ocean, and we try to impress Mr. Ray a little too much, as we end up going beyond the boundaries of the hunt and get swept up to many different locations in the Finding Nemo movies. As for where the Yellow Submarine is included in the ride, it’s used for the story aspect as Darla and Her Father decide to go scuba diving during our adventure, and Darla want some new fishies to “play” with.

Just turn Crazy Chicken Little into a long musical shortflim, with Chicken Little getting into very weird situations.

LITTLE NEMO'S SLUMBERING SEAS

Set sail into the dreams of Little Nemo, boarding adorable yellow submarines that house six people. Venturing into the Sea of Dreams, guests can look through their shared portholes at the wondrous realms of melodious mermaids, literal schools of fish, and Professor Genius' bubble factory. Beware though, for drifting too far down leads to the forbidden Abyss of Nightmares...

Atlantis Submarine Exploration
atlantis-leviathan-ulysses.jpg

At Shanghai Kong Disneyland’s Adventure Isle (near Storyhouse Stage next to Pirates Cove), guests will be able to join Milo Thatch and his Atlantaen wife Kida in a (yellow) submarine exploration of the lost city of Atlantis. Using similar technology to the 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea at Tokyo DisneySea (e.g. monorails on tracks with water/bubbles in window panes to give a submersion effect), guests will encounter the futuristic technology of the Atlanteans as well as a scary face-to-face with a leviathan.

Bonus–Atlantis: The Creatures of the Lost City
atlantis_disney_concept_art_09.jpg

In this 3rd title of the Atlantis series, Milo and Kida, their children, and others like Gaetan Moliere journey out in a submarine to research the unique creatures (including some not-so-friendly ones) of Atlantis.

Bonus point. You pass the test!

My folks just got off a DCL trip in Sydney and have been a day ahead of us for several days on their transpacific cruise. Don't guess I can use that as an excuse? lol

Regardless, deadline is Saturday the 19th, so 30ish hours before this song comes to an end. I clearly haven't slept enough this week!

The Imagination Encounter experience
being lazy.jpg
Replacing the Pixar Short movie theater in the Imagination Pavilion in Epcot, Disney created a new theater show featuring a combination of live actors, animatronics, and special effects. The plot follows an Imagination Institute presentation of an alien artifact discovered deep in the ocean by a yellow submarine that conjures up things you can imagine. The show goes off the rails when the presenter (terrified of public speaking) conjures up increasingly funny and disastrous things only to be saved by Dreamfinder who helps them imagine their way out of the predicament.

Disney finally settled on a script and movie for their Dreamfinder and Figment characters.
