One Man's Dream...

the rules regarding photography were in place at the cast previews, but if cast members were taking pics, its because the other cast members weren't enforcing the policy. Some things in there aren't owned by the company, hence the policy. The idea that they aren't new in comparison to things you'd see in the animation tour isn't the reason behind it.

Not owned by the company? Any idea on what parts weren't? I'm just curious. With the exception of maybe his school desk, it all looked like stuff that would be Disney property... Or is this stuff they have sold over the years that collectors are allowing them to display?

Thank you for the pictures as I won't be seeing this exhibit although I am hoping that someone I know who's going can pick up a book or guide to the exhibit.

If it makes everyone feel better, though, I will refrain from taking any more pictures in this exhibit until/unless Disney policy changes in regards to this attraction...

NO! Please keep taking pictures! :(

When I get down there I'll be doin' the same. Takin' pics doesnt hurt anything! I f they didnt want people to see the stuff they wouldnt have it on display. We all know that Disney is (sadly) a greedy money making company and they want you to pay to see this, that my friends is the ONLY reason they dont want you to take pics. I'll probably tape the whole thing! :D

I agree. I don't see a copyright problem here. I think they don't want people taking pics because they want them to come to the parks and see the exhibit. I looked at these pics, but I will still tour the exhibit next week. Thanx for the pix 007, I mean Mr. P.

Just ask a cast member why there are no pics/video. It's not just about having to get into the park to see the attraction. To just assume a reason for it without knowing the truth wouldn't be fair, would it?

The best part of the exhibit is the film at the end. It's a story of walt's life with never before seen and rare footage. It's hosted by michael eisner, who sounds like he has his foot in his mouth...oh wait, it might be....but anyways...check it out as they are very strict about not taking any video of that film.

Then why don't you speak up? Face it buddy, copyright or not, these pictures are gonna get out one way or another. I think that if you wouldn't be a cast member you wouldn't care less about if people take pictures or not. As long as you refrain from using the flash, who cares? I was just in the exhibit, and I didn't see any signs saying that you couldn't take pictures, so I could have and said that I never saw a sign to the contrary.

This is going to be the way many of these people will ever see this stuff, so quit acting like a corporate stooge.

Guess what? When i was backstage with my band in high school I took pics of the backstage of the magic kingdom.....and then I was backstage at DL twice, and I have pics and video from there. And guess what? I don't feel guilty, because nobody was hurt because of it.

Since it was my pictures that started this whole discussion I think that I have the right to ask everyone to take it easy on Jaysilent. He has been very polite throughout this entire thread even when being put on the defensive (which usually tends to make people get nasty) Regardless of who he is, he is entitled to his view as much as the rest of us are entitled to ours. I respect that he thinks it was wrong...
