In the Emporium I hoped to find the item I’d seen earlier in Hundred Acre Goods but did not feel like schlepping around the park. IS SHIP TO RESORT SERVICE EVER COMING BACK??!!?? Because Disney would be getting a whole lot more of my dollars if it did!
Have they at least restarted the sending it to the front of the park service?
I loved the resort service, but found the front of the park one to be quite helpful too.

Day 3, con’t

It was after 2 pm when we’d completed our second ride on the train. Time to park hop!

Though we had already been to Epcot twice, I had forgotten to look for a previously out of stock item for our beloved cat caretaker. It was an unspoken promise I intended to keep.

Transferring to the Epcot line after riding the Express monorail to the TTC is easy-peasy. Just a super short walk across the platform - no down and up ramps to contend with (unlike arrival via Resort monorail.)

Once in the park I made a beeline for Starbucks.

Alas, the Epcot 50th Been There mug, the only one missing from Em’s collection, was nowhere to be found.

This would be trip #6 that we have unsuccessfully searched for this mug. It’s likely the last time since the anniversary will be over by our next trip. Yes, resellers carry it online but there’s no way we’re paying $200 for a coffee mug.

Woody and I moved on to the chalk artists.

I had hoped to catch the 3D artist - his work is unbelievable - but he was gone.

The dirt in this area that I had photographed two days earlier was now beautified for Flower and Garden.

We listened to the saxophonist playing on the center stage before making our way to the Skyliner station. I had a new destination in mind.

There are two lanes used to load the gondolas and guests may choose either lane. Without much thought, I followed the party ahead of me to the right. Woody went left because there were no others in that lane. Since the CM alternates each lane to load, Woody would be next to board. He caught my attention and I hurried over to meet him, bumping my hip into the metal ring on the lane divider (see below).

I crumpled in pain. Tears welled up in my eyes. Woody had no idea what was happening. I didn’t want to make a fuss since I was embarrassed about injuring myself. I managed to climb into the cabin and sit down before sharing with him what I had done.

The result was a HUGE (8 cm x 3 cm), nasty bruise on my left hip - which is still noticeable a month later - that when poked still causes pain!

I did not realize my last post was such a downer until I reread it. (Explains the number of :( reactions it received.) Allow me to clarify with some positives:

*The visit to Epcot was not for naught. I always enjoy a monorail ride and was interested in seeing the construction progress behind “the walls.”

*The weather was perfect and it was glorious to be outside.

*I had low expectations of finding the mug and Em is perfectly happy without it.

*Although I did not get to see Nate Baranowski’s chalk art in person, there are online pics.

Lastly, I was about to satisfy a craving that (temporarily) helped distract me from my aching hip. At one of @wdisney9000 ’s favorite places.

Woody and I did not visit Bar Riva during our overnight stay at the Riviera in August (a later regret.) Today, had we not been full from our LTT gluttony, we would have ordered @wdisney9000 ‘s highly-recommended burger. Next time!

I was here for something frozen.

Unfortunately neither the Mediterranean Wave nor the Provence Frosé contain coconut, so I went with my usual Piña Colada. Sorry beer-people, I don’t remember what Woody had on draft. He enjoyed whatever it was!

We loved the relaxing vibe of Bar Riva and were glad we stopped by.

Riding the Skyliner back to Pop was very pleasant. The open vents in the cabin allowed for a cross breeze that felt like I was riding in a small craft on the ocean. The temperature was much more comfortable than it was on the monorail.

We crashed in our room for awhile. Our feet (and my hip) were throbbing and neither of us felt like going anywhere that would require a lot of walking.

At nightfall we decided to grab dinner in the food court.

(Agree with you @Spash007 about the beautiful sunrises/sunsets over Hourglass Lake!)

We did not mobile order and thought we’d check out our options in person.

We settled on a turkey sandwich and chips. The sandwich was generously sized so we shared it. It was a very good sandwich!

The pool looked inviting on a warm evening. Too bad we didn’t pack swimwear. :banghead:

Goodnight, Mowgli and Baloo. See you in the morning!

Curious if the queue for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will utilize this exterior courtyard from Splash Mountain.

There is a new narrator and new narration for the Grand Circle Tour. Interestingly, there is a comment about “critters making their new home” inside the former SM. (I suspect we’ll see some familiar critters when Tiana’s opens.)

Scenery along the way.

Thinking this billboard might now be permanent.

It doesn’t do much to hide the show building however.

We’d watched the construction for the train tunnel under TRON. Now we were in it, peeking through the window!

I’ve always loved this view.

Although you can’t beat the people watching from up here!

We got so upset last week, because we put off riding until after we returned for the fireworks, not realizing that it didn’t run at night. I’m out of practice with the train schedule!

Day 4 - Saturday, February 11

Loud chatter and a slamming door did not disturb us last night or early this morning.

We had new neighbors.

In other good news, I was able to switch our park reservation. I originally had Epcot booked so that Woody would have an opportunity to join the VQ for Guardians. Since he (unexpectedly) got to ride on Wednesday - and since we’d seen all that FARTS had to offer - neither of us desired another visit today.

We’d yet to have a hot breakfast so we went over to the food court a few minutes after opening to beat the crowds. (Did I mention that Pop was overrun with competitive cheerleaders and dancers?) The waffle station was obviously the most popular as it had a huge line. We passed in favor of the station with no line - bagel sandwiches with egg, bacon and cheese.

At the register I asked for a hot beverage cup (coffee for Woody) and pulled out my wallet as Woody slid the food tray over. The handsome hunk of a CM noticed my birthday button, wished me a happy birthday and said, “Your breakfast is free.”

Both Woody and I stood there dumbfounded for a moment before thanking him profusely!

Later Em reminded me of another time I’d been pixie-dusted at the Pop food court. She and I were waiting for our Tragical Express bus and I wanted to grab a Coke. The CM at the register handed me a cup, smiled and said, “no charge.”

The bagel breakfast sandwiches hit the spot. We did not rush through our meal and Woody had a second cup of coffee.

For the second morning in a row, we arrived at the bus stop just in time to board.

(What? You think we’d be going to ANIMAL KINGDOM??!! 🤣🤣🤣)

8:15 am - on a SATURDAY - and the tapstiles weren’t busy at all!

I still insisted on using the Passholder Entrance, just because we could.*

*and because it was closer to our first stop. 😉🤣
