Day 3, con’t
It was after 2 pm when we’d completed our second ride on the train. Time to park hop!
Though we had already been to Epcot twice, I had forgotten to look for a previously out of stock item for our beloved cat caretaker. It was an unspoken promise I intended to keep.
Transferring to the Epcot line after riding the Express monorail to the TTC is easy-peasy. Just a super short walk across the platform - no down and up ramps to contend with (unlike arrival via Resort monorail.)
Once in the park I made a beeline for Starbucks.
Alas, the Epcot 50th Been There mug, the only one missing from Em’s collection, was nowhere to be found.
This would be trip #6 that we have unsuccessfully searched for this mug. It’s likely the last time since the anniversary will be over by our next trip. Yes, resellers carry it online but there’s no way we’re paying $200 for a coffee mug.
Woody and I moved on to the chalk artists.
I had hoped to catch the 3D artist - his work is unbelievable - but he was gone.
The dirt in this area that I had photographed two days earlier was now beautified for Flower and Garden.
We listened to the saxophonist playing on the center stage before making our way to the Skyliner station. I had a new destination in mind.
There are two lanes used to load the gondolas and guests may choose either lane. Without much thought, I followed the party ahead of me to the right. Woody went left because there were no others in that lane. Since the CM alternates each lane to load, Woody would be next to board. He caught my attention and I hurried over to meet him, bumping my hip into the metal ring on the lane divider (see below).
I crumpled in pain. Tears welled up in my eyes. Woody had no idea what was happening. I didn’t want to make a fuss since I was embarrassed about injuring myself. I managed to climb into the cabin and sit down before sharing with him what I had done.
The result was a HUGE (8 cm x 3 cm), nasty bruise on my left hip - which is still noticeable a month later - that when poked still causes pain!
