All but the “bite“ her brother talked her out of.
Why is "bite" in quotation marks? Does he eat a third of it in one bite? My brother used to make me so mad whenever we went to McDonalds. The only thing I would eat was chicken nuggets because they always forgot to make my burger plain and my mom wouldn't exchange it once it was served, so I just stopped ordering burgers once nuggets came out. My brother would point somewhere and shout "LOOK!!!" and then steal a nugget or two from me, and my mom let him because she said that if I was gullible enough to fall for it, I deserved to have it stolen. I really wanted to tell her to try that theory out in court. "I know it wasn't mine, your honor, but she fell for it! I stole that bike fair and square!! She deserved to have it stolen!"

Day 4, con’t

DHS was open for another hour and attraction wait times were low, likely due to the majority of guests waiting in the amphitheater for Fantasmistake Fantasmic! to start. (Apologies for the correction. That’s been our family’s moniker for the show for years.)

Had @lindawdw been with me, I’m certain I would have taken advantage of the lull and crammed in a few attractions before closing time. But I was with Woody, who wanted to take a stroll through the empty park and soak in the ambiance.

It was a good choice.

We came upon a creative janitorial CM’s work shortly after leaving 50s Prime Time.

Wandered over to check out the Animation Courtyard….

….which was empty.

Voyage of the Little Mermaid was such a great family attraction. It pains me that Disney spent money to refurbish the exterior signage only to have the theater sit empty. Permanently.

I doubt Walt would have allowed that to happen!

Toy Story Land is so pretty at night.

The Round Up Rodeo restaurant sign is no longer under wraps. It was revealed yesterday.

We skipped Galaxy’s Edge and sauntered down Sunset Blvd. Love the neon lights here!

We were surprised to see projections on the Tower of Terror. I’d forgotten it is one of the “Beacons of Light” for the 50th.

I happened to catch an elevator mid-drop! (Perhaps as the ride photo was taken?)

Woody and I wanted to beat closing time crowds so we headed for the park exit.

There was no line for the Skyliner (and no line at the CBR transfer station) so a mere fifteen minutes later we were almost home.

Third spin. Different attraction.

Something’s not quite right.

The house lights were on!

First the Peoplemover, now the Carousel of Progress? What was going on?

The most unusual sight - and I wish I had been quick enough to get a picture - came into view as the theater rotated for the next scene. The “curtained” scene above on the right was dark but bright fluorescent lights shone through it from behind, revealing a storage area with boxes, paint cans and a ladder!

Once our theater ceased rotating the house lights were off and the show proceeded as usual.

Can someone PLEASE fix this tablecloth? My OCD can’t take it!!

Look what I just saw posted on a Facebook pass holder page. My OCD self is much relieved.

yes, his “bite” would be close to a third of it.

Day 5 - Sunday, February 12

Woody and I were homeward bound just as dawn was breaking. We managed to avoid any eyes during the “walk of shame” to load our luggage into the car. (Aren’t you proud of us, @wdisney9000?)

We made one pit stop.

While the third time should have been the charm in knowing exactly what food to order, I soon discovered I am still on the learning curve.

On our first visit, we had breakfast brisket tacos which were amazing and easy to eat in the car. (And by easy I mean not messy.) But today we’d arrived after 11 am and those were not an option.

Warm sandwiches from the Texas Round Up would be our choice for lunch.

I’d had a sliced brisket sandwich on my second visit. While delicious, the slices were large and would be better eaten with a knife and fork. I’d decided then and there my next sandwich would be chopped brisket.

We picked up two chopped brisket sandwiches and a bag of these:

For those unaware, there are NO tables or chairs inside or outside a Buc-ee’s. Food is strictly to-go. Both prior visits I’d eaten in the car while in the parking lot. But Woody wanted to keep driving.

In theory, that sounded okay.

Until I unwrapped the first sandwich and discovered that the chopped brisket sandwich is SAUCY. Very saucy.

There was no way Woody would be able to hold one of these bad boys while driving, let alone take a bite. I ended up breaking the sandwich into bite-size pieces and feeding him, sauce covering all my fingers. (Romantic it was not! 🤣)

As if that wasn’t messy enough, the powdered cheese on the Buc-ee’s Nug-ee’s made a paste with the sauce on my fingers.

All I could do was laugh.

Next time I’ll have plastic utensils handy. And baby wipes. Wetting a paper napkin with water from a Dasani bottle is not the best substitute for cleaning sticky hands!

The rest of our drive was uneventful and we were home in plenty of time for Super Bowl pizza and Monster Cookies, a family tradition.

Coming up: Final thoughts
