One Camera / One Lens

Regardless of my past visits and my experience with photography, this June will be a huge hallmark moment for me… my first visit with my children, they’ll be 5 and 3.

Between now and then I’m exploring a new camera for this trip. I’m leaning towards a Leica Q2 or Q3, with the darkhorse Leica Q3 43. I think 43 is too tight for a Disney trip. 28 might be a touch wide but with 60MP in the q3 there’s some cropping power. I always try to work full frame without cropping, I’ll crop with my feet but given the kids etc I’ll need light and fast, run and gun style of camera.

I would definitely go with the 28. You can zoom with your feet to make the diff to the 43. Wider will give your shots better context, especially outside.

My wife has told me that I am 100% banned for bringing the M11 monochrom. Manual focus / black and white only… doesn’t bode with toddlers lol!
