Once you go Deluxe (or DVC) it's hard to go back.

As a kid, we either drove home ( only and hour) or grabbed a room at the All-Stars for 1 night. The first year we took the kids we stayed in the All Star Movies for 7 night, and really didn't like it. They next year it was Kidani Village which we loved. This year it was the Boardwalk, which we like a lot but wished we had chosen the Beach Club. Next year it's the Beach Club.

Does anyone else agree, that once you've stayed at a Deluxe resort a few times it is hard to go back to budget?

We stayed at four different Deluxes and loved them all. When our finances weren't as good, we switched to the Moderates and enjoyed them, too. In one respect, food courts, we liked the Moderates better. When our finances improved, we stayed in two Moderate rooms rather than one Deluxe room. The two Moderate rooms were still cheaper than the one Deluxe room and had almost two hundred more square feet.

Well, my hubby is the worst! After staying @ ASM, POP, PORS, CBR, we booked WL. OMG! My hubby will never go back to value or mods! He says rooms are too small! I tried to book CSR this June, but hubby didn't want that. He decided he wanted SS. So, he's the spoiled one!
After staying at the POLY for our 15th anniversary, there's just no comparison. We're saving for BC in Dec 2014 hopefully!
I would stay at any WDW resort. I just wanna be there! but, hubby just won't do it!
So... once you go DELUXE, beware: you may never go back!;)

Oh please don't tell me that! My husband who says this is his last Disney trip (only going for our daughter),we are using his military discount to stay at Wilderness Lodge. If it wasn't for that the three of us would be at a value resort. I hope we don't get spoiled too much.

I think it's also weighing needs, vs. wants. I mean upcoming I am staying at AKL through a friends DVC points. but if that wasn't the case, even though it's only 5 days I would never be able to afford it and would be at a pop century. it may be easier to stomach only being two people going as well so the space wouldn't feel as crowded as bigger families would. but the way I view it, 5 days at a value resort will always trump 5 days of New Jersey (unless Bon Jovi is playing at the rock or meadowlands) and do ill always take what I can get compared to nothing on short trips since to be honest I wouldn't be down long enough to really appreciate the rooms too much to begin with.

(plus all that said you can still appreciate the luxury hotels without staying there. I've had many trips where I stayed at port Orleans riverside and always found my way to animal kingdom lodge one morning at least for Boma. and honestly depending on your animal it may be better viewing than K. Safari. you go there and it's set up nice, your not blocking any bodies room or anything and they have viewing stations to see things like the giraffe, without having to hope you get a good shot on the ride and get back in line if it was blurry or something. also most mornings waiting for Boma after showing up early there were cast members that were there to help wih and questions, something again you really don't get in the safari. )
