Once Upon A Toy store represents Disney and Hasbro under one retail environment
AUGUST 06, 2002

(Display & Design Ideas Magazine) -- Disney's latest retail creation, Once Upon A Toy, opened on August 1, at Walt Disney World Resort in Downtown Disney, Lake Buena Vista, Fla. The 16,000-sq.-ft. toy store from Disney and Hasbro appeals to kids from 3 to 93, including new spins on old favorites, such as a Disney-based Monopoly board game, Disney-styled Mr. Potato Head and a miniature version of Disney's Wilderness Lodge resort hotel made of Lincoln Logs. The store's interior has colorful, kinetic displays created by Disney Imagineers and Hasbro designers. The store provides plenty of space for interaction, including a Mr. Potato Head station, where customers can create their own Mr. Potato Head via electronic kiosks. Once Upon A Toy is the first store at Walt Disney World Resort to feature computer terminals that allow guests to have their purchases delivered to a Walt Disney World hotel or shipped to a mailing address anywhere in the world.

To all who shop there... hide those credit cards. :zipit:
I had a great time shopping there, and it's really one of a kind!

Yeah...

When I walked into the store and saw small toy replicas of Astro Orbiter, Dumbo, The Haunted Mansion, The Grand Floridian, The Polynesian, a small mock up of the TTC, and the Castle..I knew I was in heaven....

This is definately a "must see" for all Disney World Guests!!!

If there was one thing that sounds better than anything else, and I'm saying this both because walt disney world is my favorite place on earth, and monopoly is my favorite board game of all time, I would want Disney Theme Park Monopoly. Has anybody seen this....? I know it's there.

My guess is that Cinderella Castle is Boardwalk, and Spaceship Earth is Park Place...If you've seen it and I'm wrong, please tell me, and if you know any of the others....That would be great too.

Do these replicas move or make sounds? I can't wait to go there! My mother has already told me: there is no room in this small apartment to put a monorail set. No Castle! No Contemporary! But I think I will not be able to resist...
