Rumor "Once Upon a Time" Final Performance: May 5th, 2018?

I wouldn't even consider this a rumor; it's just something I noticed on the website.

While you can find FoF and HEA showtimes listed well into the future, 5/5/18 (Saturday) at 9:45pm appears to be the final performance of OUaT. Again, this is only according to the online calendar and, of course, NOT a certain indication this show is ending.

However, I thought it was noteworthy and hoped one of our insiders could weigh in.

Correct. Last year there was a plan to retire the show after HEA premiered to preserve the projectors, but it is now viewed as necessary to spread crowds around closing time.

I find it really odd to have this show fairly shortly after HEA. It's like having a nice hamburger right after you finished a steak dinner.

It is. I used to love it but after HEA it looks terrible to me

it doesn't work... it was nicer when it was BEFORE HEA but being AFTER HEA it doesn't really spread crowds around.

Can’t imagine why . Maybe if they hadn’t taken away a major entertainment offering that MK has had for years there wouldn’t be a need to keep Once Upon A Time to spread out the crowds.

It’s only when you pay an extra $100 for one of Mickey’s parties that you are expected to wait til 10:15 for fireworks.

And yet we are all enabling the overall parks philosophy.

Having a show called OUAT after one called HEA bothers me more than it should.

Part of the crowd solution, aside from the obvious answer of bringing back a nighttime parade, is not making HEA 2.0 so castle centric. I know it's a big expenditure but incorporating other areas of the parks during the show like DL does could help. Particularly non-Main Street portions.

I suppose the issue is that MK doesn't have secondary projection canvases (areas/buildings) with firework views and wider concourses in front of them like what DL has (TSI and Small World).
