Old TR, Pre-TR, New TR

Ok this is my first time to do a TR so hope you enjoy. Every year I say I am going to do one but then life gets in the way.
We started going to DW every year in 2004 and even went twice one year. Once we went we were hooked. Last year was a big deal because it was our sons first trip and we thought it would be our last year for awhile. Luckily they came out with the Military Salute program so we get to go again. :sohappy: We went during Columbus Day weekend and stayed in a MK view at the Contemporary. Wow! It was so great and I would love to do it again some day.
My daughter (12 at the time) is a very nervous kid when it comes to new things so I was really worried about my son (3 at the time) and the plane ride, characters, rides, etc. I had no reason to worry. He loved everything and was never afraid. :sohappy: I was so proud of him.
We did MNSSHP, rode rides, ate good food and shopped until we were broke. If someone can explain to me how to post pictures I can add some on tonight.

Ok we leave in 2 days and I am no where near being ready.
I know this has been discussed somewhere but can someone remind me real quick where to find school bread? This is one of the snacks I really want to try.
I was also going to try and put some more pics up but not sure if I will have time. Everyone in my family except for me (knock on wood) has been sick. They are all feeling better and taking their meds but since they have been sick I am way behind. Thanks to everyone for all your help.

Ok we have arrived back from yet another wonderful trip to DW. Just wanted to do a quick recap of our trip and try and add on some more pics before I have to go back to work tomorrow.
1st Day
Our day started out ok but then we got stuck in traffic and barely made it in time for our flight. :hammer:We arrived on time on the 8th and got to POFQ pretty quick. We were put on a Mears bus instead of Disney (no biggie) and got checked in pretty quick. I had done online check in and was givien a ground floor room but not a corner. If I wanted one it would not be available for about another 3 hours and we were not waiting. We were in building 3 room 3110 which was a nice quiet area. Not much of a view but we were not there enough for that anyway. Ate dinner in the food court and headed to MNSSHP. We had a blast and rode ride after ride with no waits. Unfortunately we did not last as long at the party as I would have hoped because everyone was so tired from the travel. Next time I will know not to do a party on the night we arrive. :snore: Off to bed we went.

Day 2
We all slept late, except for me as usual, and then got on the boat to DTD. We had lunch reservations at T-Rex and we were about 15 minutes late because we missed the boat and had to wait on another. They seated us right away and we were in the room with all of the fish. The food was really good but after about the 3rd astroid storm (or whatever it is called) my 4 year old had had enough and wanted to leave. He ended up eating his lunch in our room.
Next we headed over to Animal Kingdom to see the Lion King show. We had never seen this before and we all loved it. My son even got pulled out at the end to dance with the cast. He was very excited about that and I think the 13 year old was a little jealous. We rode a few rides (my hubby rode the Dino ride and said it broke down a few times and that there were workers there) and then headed back to the hotel for dinner at Boatwrights.
Boatwrights was good not great. It used to be alot better. But the dining plan I have to say was great. NIce to only pay a tip and not that big bill. :D

Day 3
As usual I am up early roaming around the hotel and drinking my coffee while everyone else sleeps. If you are not a fan of Disneys coffee try the new Starbucks coffees that you just add to hot water. Not bad.
Anyway, this day was spent in Epcot. We had lunch at the Coral Reef which was very good and my kids love watching all of the fish. After lunch we went to look at the fish inside and ride the Nemo ride.
We also rode Figment, Ellens Energy ride, Living with the Land and DH rode Mission Space. Walked around World Showcase for awhile, boy was it crowded, and then headed off to the hotel to swim.
By the way did I mention how hot this trip was?:lol:

Day 4 The rush for Toy Story Mania
I had heard you had to be there early and in line in order to ride this ride and boy you guys were not kidding. In order to do this all the late sleepers had to GET UP!
We got there early and got right on the ride. We all loved it but boy were our arms sore. And I got the highest score. :sohappy: Has anyone gotten this in Wii yet? I think this will have to be a Christmas present. Breakfast was a quick muffin at Starring Rolls and then it was off to the Little Mermaid show. I have to say that we did not ride alot of rides at this park. Did I mention how hot this trip was? We ate lunch at Sci Fi (which is still just ok in my opinion) and then headed back to the hotel for more swimming.
My kids love the big slide at POFQ and my 4 year old went on it about 20 times.
After swimming we got cleaned up and headed over to Epcot for dinner at San Angel. We had planned on taking the boat to HS from the Boardwalk area but we were so late we did not think we would make it in time for Fantasmic. Instead we went to the Beach Club and caught a bus to DTD for more shopping. I love this place and it was finally starting to cool down a little.

Day 5 and our last full day.
Crystal Palace for breakfast. While the food was good the characters not so much. We only got to see Tigger and Pooh. Piglet and Eeyore never made it to our table and we were there for over a good hour. No idea what the problem was. We spent the day in MK and got to ride alot of rides and finally saw Jessee and Woody. My son was so excited about this he could barely contain himself. We were also able to ride the Jungle Cruise, which we missed last year, and had a great skipper named DJ I believe. Very funny.
After the day in MK we headed to Epcot again and cut thru to the Beach Club for dinner at Cape May. We love the food here and it was great as always. We had a very good meal and a great server.
After walking around World Showcase again we headed back to the hotel to pack. We also spent alot of time in the arcade this trip and I got a great pic of my kids drawn by the artist who sits in the lobby. I will try and take a pic of that and see if I can get it to show up. Turned out great.

Day 6
The plan for this day had been to eat at Kona Cafe and go to MK until we had to leave. Well that did not happen. :brick: Instead we passed on Kona  and ate in the food court instead. At this point we had already used all of our dining credits and snack credits but had alot of quick service meals left. We decided to use these up by eating in the food court for breakfast and heading to Epcot so I could ride Test Track and my daughter could ride Soarin. We got everything accomplished and headed back to the hotel to go back home.

Highlights from this trip:
I finally got to ride BTMR at night. What a blast! I was in the last car and felt like I was flying.
Got my 4 year old to ride Soarin. The look on his face was priceless. He was scared but fasinated at the same time. When we asked if he liked it however his answer was a big NO!
We had great CM's the whole trip. Very friendly and helpful.
This was a more relaxed, slower paced trip and I have to say I enjoyed it more. I only wish we could have stayed longer.
Hope the military does another special like they did this year because it was great and very affordable for us.
Got to try School Bread and loved it. :slurp:
The bad news is that my hubby says we are not going back next year. He and the kids all want to go somewhere else. I guess I will start planning for 2011.
Hope you enjoyed the TR. I will try and add some pics later this afternoon. Everyone have a great day. Sheri
