does any one remember a few years back when there were commericals for ToT showing a tuck pumping something into the tower and the truck said Terror, so terror was being pumped into the tower, and at the sign on World Dr. There was that truck, looking crushed like all the terror had been taken out of it? Does anyone remember that? What was it for, and what happened to that truck on World Dr.???

Yup.

The ad was for when they randomized the drop sequence.

Before that, the drops were the same no matter how many times you rode it and there were only 6 or 7 total movements of the elevator.

After the randomization, there were 5 or 6 sequences that were random, (the best one being the false ending one) with a total of 13 movements of the ride.

Clarificatation

The truck was added to advertise either tower 2 or tower 3 (don't remember which) niether of which featured random sequences. (Tower 2 added a second drop to the original, tower 3 made the drops much more complex but still the same each time.)

Tower 4 was the first implementation of a different drip each time. With the opening of Tower 4 the truck was removed and a blinking "4" button replaced the letter "o" in the tower sign on world drive.

I'll agree that I am pretty sure the Terror Truck was used to advertise ToT version number 3 - - "Even More Terror." At this point, the ride was standardized, as was mentioned, not random.

The false ending takes you all the way down to the bottom and sits there like it is over. Then it shoots all the way up to the top and drops back down to the end.
