Old Pooh Costume?

So, I was looking at a photo of the old Pooh costume, and wondered: How did the performer move both Pooh's face and arms?

The arms of the costume were free hanging. The performer could take his arms out of the costume arms (almost like pockets) and move them around inside the head portion of the costume. He could then pull a string that was connected to both ears to make them wiggle. He could also put his hand in the nose and make it twitch. It really only took one hand to do the above, so the other hand could be in the arm of the costume so one of Pooh's hands could still be moving at the same time as his ears or nose was moving. Performer of course saw out of the honey pot on top of Pooh's head.
