Old Disney Movies

Hey gang. I was just thinking about some of the old Disney movies I saw growing up and was wondering if any of you remember seeing them as well. The ones I really remember are (in no particular order):

1. Candleshoe (1977)
2. The Treasure of Matecumbe (1976)
3. The Cat from Outer Space (1978)
4. Escape to Witch Mountain (1975)
5. Return from Witch Mountain (1978)
6. The North Avenue Irregulars (1979)
7. The Apple Dumpling Gang (1975)
8. The Black Hole (1979)
9. Gus (1976)
10. Any of the Herbie the Love Bug films (Various years)

These are some of my favorites. I'd love to know what some of yours are that are not on the list.

Thanks and I look forward to seeing your replies.

Just checked your profile as I thought you must have been a similar age to me to remember the Witch Mountain films. I also remember the Herbie films, Cat from Outer Space and Black Hole.

Was The Spaceman and King Arthur a Disney film? I think they marketed it in the USA as "Unidentified Flying Oddball". Also the superhero film that flopped big time - Condorman starring Michael Crawford.

It's a bit later than the above, but what about Tron?

I loved One and Only Genuine Original Family Band when i was little! I used to watch it over and over again! Loved the dancing and the music! Wish I could find the soundtrack somewhere!

Just a note that several of these have recently been released (or are soon scheduled for release to DVD). Lots of people don't know about these DVDs because Disney isn't advertising them that I've seen and lots of stores aren't carrying them. Both Witch Mountain movies, both Apple Dumpling Gang movies, Gus, the Herbie movies are all out and a few of the others on your list are scheduled for release July 6. They really were some great movies that never seem to be shown on TV any more so it's great to have them on DVD now.

Some of these DVDs are "Vault Disney"-type special editions, with a whole second disc or a bunch of background stuff on the discs. The ones that I know about (with cast interviews, etc.) are: The Love Bug (original only), both Witch Mountain films, The Apple Dumpling Gang, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, and Tron. All have extras-filled "special editions" out.

And, of course, they have the actual "Vault Disney" series: Parent Trap, Old Yeller, Swiss Family Robinson, and Pollyanna. They are now available in a set. The special features on them are super premium. Lots of interviews and stuff from the actual making and marketing of the films.

All of these can be found at www.disneyvideos.com.

Well, your list consists of films from the '70s. So I would add to that "The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes," which was from '69. Pretty close to the '70s.
And of course, how could you compile a list from the '70s and leave out the classic horror film?
