At around 8 pm Tonight I say 3 or 4 boats pointing spot lights at the old discovery island like that we're looking for something or someone. Is this typically behavior

Edit

My camera wasn't good enough to capture the spotlighs searching the shore line

What kind of boats were they? If pontoons, the fireworks cruises/boat charters from the various resorts tend to leave about the same time and each point out Discovery Island with lights.

That was most likely it. They were pontoons. I just never saw that before

I armchair imagineered an idea for Discovery Island years and years ago. Very very cool. I think it's happening. No I won't say what it is.

You should have been paying attention. 😱

It would be a GREAT place for a super-exclusive resort. I've always wondered why they let it sit there unused.

They did look into a honeymoon cabin retreat around the time it closed.

I figured they chose not to do it because it would be a nightmare in bad weather. If boat transportation got suspended, people could find themselves stuck at the parks, unable to get back to their rooms, or stuck on the island, unable to leave. Not a great way to spend a special time.

Really, the point of developing it for that purpose isn't there anymore now that we have things like the Polynesian bungalows.

I’m pretty sure that those are just the spot lights from the finale of HEA, it would make sense because they are behind BLT in the picture.

Hmm, seems like an aerial ropeway would be a good solution. ;)

If they are mowing the island at all probably a lawnmower. The ones in 7 seas they bring in powered push mowers on boats.
