Ok so what things do you refuse to pay for that you'd actually like to do?

We also last year saw the amphicars at Disney Springs and thought it looked like a rather exciting activity to enjoy. Once again though we thought the price far too prohibitive, we could afford it if we wanted but just couldn't justify paying that for what it was.

I won't pay for a dining plan, extra hours in the park, or photo pass.

Sorry if that offends anyone but it's my preference and we actually do spend a lot of time in the room and at the resort. Even if we didn't I'm still picky about where I shower and sleep. It's totally worth it to ME.

I'm not sure where you got your info. You can definitely pass on your DVC membership to your heirs. Just set it up in your will or trust. And if your friends had trouble selling it, they must have been doing something wrong. DVC retains it value extremely well for a time share. Just check out all the resale web sites. And a better way to look at DVC is that you are getting deluxe accommodations at value prices. A 5-night stay in a Polynesian studio cost me $782.That's $156 a night and you don't pay sales tax on that. That's a pretty good value to me.

I'm very curious to see what other people's thoughts are on the deluxe hotels. I'd really like to stay in them, myself. My last stay I was at POR-riverside and I was barely in my room. I'd like to think if I were to stay at a deluxe, I'd stay longer just so I could plan some days to spend at the resort. For the full price I don't think it's worth it, but if I were to stay, I would Rent DVC points.

I would like to do one of the magic kingdom tours, where they tell you all the details and about the park and personal walt disney stuff. But ,,, it is $$$$ i "think"its about 120-140 $ perperson . But i am gonna do fireworks and dessert next time we go .

Stay at Grand Floridian. Although I'd love to stay there, it's a waste of money because we literally only use the hotel to shower & sleep. No Pool, playground, movies...etc

Mrs Merg and I have our own much cheaper version of this. We book the Sci-fi reservations 6 months before for around 5:15pm (when Fantasmic starts 7:30pn). Out by 6:15pm and walk over to Fantasmic and take our seat. Now Fantasmic has FP+, it's even easier.

I've stayed at moderates and deluxe WDW resorts. I much prefer the deluxe for many reasons. We tend to relax on the balcony with a coffee in the a.m. or an adult beverage in the p.m. After many, many years rooming at motels with sports teams, I prefer the hotel over motel experience now. And the locations, for the most part, are better also.

As for things I wouldn't splurge on? DVC. Most everything else is on the "try it once, maybe, someday" list.

The Sense of Africa tour. I would never in a million years pay that price, but they have okapis, which are my absolute favorite animal. I just want to pet one!

I've got one suggestion for everyone...the Disney Visa rewards card. This card has been an absolute joy to have. My wife and I are in the same boat as you guys and see things we'd love to have, but don't want to shell out the money for them.

For example...do I really need that $90 Nike Golf polo, or does my wife really need those Minnie Mouse earrings? I would never want to spend my "own" money on those items, but when we have saved up rewards dollars for a vacation, I have no problem buying those items (and more) and just using the rewards card.

I don't think that anybody judged anyone else for choosing to do any of the activities, restaurants, etc... They simply gave their reasons for deciding to pass on said activities, restaurants and etc.. With that being said there are lot's of things that I'd love to experience but I won't shell out the funds to do so. My mantra is if you like it I love it!

Disney admission media, Had AP's for what felt like forever but let em lapse last year after all the cuts, Seems like an even better decision this year with all the additional cuts.

T-Shirts at the park or DS.

We went over to DS the other day and stopped by the Co-Op. LOVED the vintage-looking attraction shirts they had. Looked at the tag: $36!

I know that's not expensive for some folks, but I just couldn't justify it.

We have, however, bought plenty of discount merchandise at the two outlet locations in O-Town, but obviously it's a roll of the dice whether they will have something cool that week. But we check them out every few months.
