No biggie, i was just wondering if anybody has opted for not doing the dinning plan and has cooked meals in the rooms. We are staying at Movies and was wondering would it be cheaper to make lunchs and dinner in the rooms then do the dinning plan please help me and hopefuly the plans do not change ...lol

Do not take this the wrong way, but what kind of meal are you going to prepare in a room with no cooking facility in it? Movies is just a hotel with a great disney theme and touch to it.

You dont have to take the dinner plan ,just wing it. Your room is a lttle small to cook in but we bring stuff from home or just hit the food courts lightly and we save more money than buying the dinner plan.

only some rooms at dvc resorts have cooking facilites in the room, as well as the allstar suties, and hotels with suites(some not all)
also u can get a few groceries, and have simple meals that dont require "cooking" i have never done that but thats an option.
im sorry i cant help u more but we useually get the dining plan or get all our meals at the parks or hotel

If you don't have a room with a kitchen of some type the whole making dinner in your room thing isn't going to happen. You may also find that you will have to rent a little fridge if you want to keep some perishable food that you bring with you. I had the brilliant idea of bringing breakfast stuff, snacks and lunch stuff once. I got a fridge. No one wanted to eat any of what I could stock in the fridge and I spent more money on the stuff we didn't eat. So for us it was a bust. Realistically, you can easily do breakfast that way, even snacks. But trying to make lunched and dinner is really just going to take up way too much time. It will take you 20-40 minutes to get back to Movies from a park. By the time you fix something and eat it, you won't have time to go back to the parks. Best advice I can give you is to bring breakfast stuff and snacks that don't need a fridge. Don't rent the fridge. Buy refillable mugs for coffee, tea, hot cocoa and sodas. Buy milk daily. Bring your own refillable water bottles. eat counterservice meals at the parks. Making your own meals while at Disney really only works if you have a kitchen, are closer to the parks, or just have lots of time to kill or don't plan on being in the parks after dinner. But you can avoid the whole Dining Plan and Table service meals. The Dining plan is only useful if you plan to eat one table service meal a day. I liked Movies. They have a nice food court and market area.
