I just baught a disney Book and they said that I can buy my one by one and that they are activiated when we are actually down there is this true ???

Ok the book is disney on a Dime and they said in the book instead of buying your tickets all at once You can buy then as you go Like 1 adult here and there they said the tickets are activated when you go down then and use them for the first time

Ok i just have the book out and there is a section in it that says if you are just buying base tickets with NO park hopper , instead of buying them all at once you can buy your tickets over time as you save up the money for them like if there are four adults going and your going for two days you can break it down per person and pay as you have the money for them..

yes that is true, but you can buy them with a park hopper and the water parks and more, and the non expiring option like that too. If you want to buy your 2 day non expiring, park hopper with water parks and more for yourself today, then next month buy the ticket for your husband, then the next month buy one for your son, you can do that. Just keep in mind that you can't do it like that if you are doing a package. If you're going to do a package, you pay your $200 deposit, then the final payment is due by 45 days prior to your trip. However, you can make payments on it. So if your not going until a year from now, you could make payments each month or even each pay day. I hope this helps. I enjoyed reading Disney on a Dime, but I found that some of the information in there isn't exactly true. It seems as if the book is a little biased. They say that buying the dining plan isn't a good deal. Well, maybe it wasn't a good deal for them, but it's a very good deal for a lot people.

We love the dining plan also. It's so nice not to have to budget money to bring with you for meals, and you get a lot of food. A fridge in the room is a good idea if you don't mind left overs for snacks. We usually end up taking our dessert back to the room, as we are too full to eat it.
I agree, "fan" doesn't quite cover it!!!!!:ROFLOL:

dining plan not worth it so much since it changed, especially if you are doing any dinners that take 2 meals

We loved the DP, too. But since it has changed, not so sure now. Having to pay a tip at an $80 meal can get hefty each night.
But...the question you are asking is about tickets, right? Well, Disney discounts tickets according to the amount of days you stay. The price per day goes down the longer you stay (tickets here, not hotels...but a good concept!). Keep that in mind as you purchase one here and one there. It is prob cheaper in the long run to do a bulk.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think the OP meant buying one persons 2 day ticket at one time then buying the next persons 2 day ticket at another time and so on. I was under the impression they were only buying 2 days of tickets per person total.

I'm sorry, but that doesn't make any sense. If you're going for two days anyway - why not save your money and buy the multiple-day ticket? Buying tickets as you save the money does nothing but relieve you of the responsibility of actually saving the money.

If it helps you budget your money, you can buy one 6-day ticket today, another 6-day ticket a month from now, another 6-day ticket a few months from now, and the last 6-day ticket at any other time including the moment you hope to step inside a theme park. There is no pre-payment discount, and no extra charge for buying tickets at the gate.
You got bad advice, however, that you supposedly can't do this with park hopper tickets. It doesn't matter what add-ons or entitlements are on the ticket ... you can still buy them in the fashion I just described.
Tickets expire 14 days after they are first used. But if they aren't used, they are good forever, or at least until 14 days after you first begin to use it. In other words, it's just fine to start buying tickets now, no matter when your trip is, because you will not use any of the tickets until your vacation time, and thus any ticket's 14-day clock won't start running until the first time you stick that ticket into a WDW turnstile.
As mentioned earlier, this plan only works if you are making a room-only reservation, or if you are staying off-site. If you are booking a "package," then the total for the vacation is due no later than 45 days prior to your trip.
Please understand and digest the above before you read on ... I don't want to confuse you.
Then again, I decided not to include how to delay a little bit of your package payment (if you booked a package) because it's just too complex. If you request, I'll explain it in a future post.

thans to all replied and yes we are staying off site becuase I work for a hotel up here in MI and I receive a discount on the room and will be saving about 45 dollars a night ... so buying the tickets like that really saves on budgeting
