At least I know where I will be working now...which was my first choice overall. I am very happy where I will be at, and Traditions went well. But I do have a few questions.

1. On my current schedule for this week, my OJT is before my Discovery Day. Does this usually happen?

2. It says the earliest I will be there is 5:45 for this week. One question..what in the heck am I going to be doing at 6 in the morning?

3. How do you pick up PAC shifts?

For being in Traditions, and it being an 8 hour class, there were A LOT of things they didn't discuss very well.

Sometimes. In my first department at Epcot, we didn't have Discovery Day for about a month. It's usually before your first OJT, though.

Could be a morning EMH. I'm not sure what the opening procedures are for M:S, but I know Living with the Land's opening procedures start about 1.5 hours before opening, if not earlier.

Sit on the Extra Hours Hotline module and pray. They're usually posted early in the week and go quickly. Search all parks, all areas, all shifts with no special training. Sometimes PAC shifts are also listed as EMH wristbanding.

if MS is anything like Space Mt. your there that early to start to know the attractions layout and then open the attraction before the guest arrive.

The same thing happened to Fantasmic. In 2005 there was no training required, but in 2006 it changed.:( Shame, that was soooo much fun.

Um.... haven't Fantasmic shifts ALWAYS been listed with training? "Parade and Crowd Control Training" = having a mouth and the ability to speak?

I used to sign up for them all of the time but I think ever since HSM and other stuff started they have incorporated the Fantasmic CMs into other things therefore having a better schedule for everyone. I haven't seen any PAC/Fantasmic shifts on the portal in a long, long time.

Lemme guess, you're scheduled the 30th at 6:45? Epcot changes to an 8am opening the day after Christmas, so that morning EMH means M:S has to be up by 7am.

Since you're only there 15mins before the park opens, you're probably opening Greeter that morning :) Throw you up some queue stantions, check your stock of green/orange cards, check the voban supply, walk over to do the park opening thingy if they do it, and lead the stampede to the attractions.

EDIT: Just realized you said 5:45 - that means you'll probably be learning how to open the ride.

About Discovery Day - it's sort of a park tour with some educational videos thrown in. It's neat, nothing to feel you "need" before working in the park though.

Did they give you a place to rendez-vous with a training cordinator for your very first day?

Nope. It used to require no training, just like MK PAC. But they changed it.:(
