Yeah I know how you feel. Mine were impacted and boy did it hurt afterwards. I have one word for you...

pills...

Did you doctor say that you could take anything? Aspirin? Any kind of pain reliever? You don't necessarily need a prescription, but you should be taking something.
For the next two or three days all you should be doing is sleeping :D That makes the pain a little less too.

I had mine taken out 2 weeks ago today. I had the top two pulled and the bottom two cut out. I was in so much pain and like a chipmunk, too. My dad and BF loved to make fun of me. The swelling stayed for a week, diminishing a little each day. The mornings and nights were the worst. My mouth would be so dry in the morning, and would hurt so much at the end of the day. You will eventually be able to take the pills when you can eat enough food to stomach them, for me, that was two days after the surgery. It will be okay, though. Right now, you feel as though you will never feel better, but trust me, you will! I was eating like normal a week after the surgery. I am about 99% healed today, 2 weeks later. The holes are completly filled in, and the bottom cuts are begining to heal over as well. You will be fine. PM me if you want to ask any questions or anything!!!
Feel better!

I gotta get mine out in a month or so... I'm nervous about it. I've never been put to sleep before. But I do love Ice Cream... now applesauce with steroids ... is that because of the wisdom teeth also?

Mine are due to be removed March 19th. The doctor made the lovely discovery that I have an extra wisdom tooth, so I get to have five removed!!

I also have to have two other upper teeth extracted at the same time, I'm preparing for braces. I know I will be taking pain medication and sleeping through the first few days.

Gettin Knocked out is simple. They put and IV in your hand, than They slip the medicine. They have a conversation with ya like they asked m how many brothers and sister i had and i fell asleep. Applesause and steriods is for my teeth. I cant open my mouth all the way and the capsule is really big so My mom put it in applesause, Later its Steriods n choloate pudding..lol

i had about 6-7 permanents pulled when i was a kid...4 alone in the 6th grade. all preparing for braces. my mouth was too small for all my teeth. i guess that's better than it being too big and having all kinds of gaps...but it did suck. now i'm in limbo with my wisdom teeth...the orthodontist still isn't quite sure if i'll need them out or not...i'm going to take a pessimist guess and say that i will. :(

Good luck Spidey! That is a pain like no other you will experience (equilivent to labor pains). Hope yours don't have to be cut out and broken and removed piece by piece. and that they are not anchored in your jaw bone. I wasn't put to sleep and couldn't if I wanted to because of all the tugging and pulling.
Susan---you will be feeling better by the end of this week. In the meantime; get plenty of sleep and put some frozen meat on your face!
