Ohana With a Kid Who Won't Eat the Food

Hi Everyone,

Quick question. We would love to do Ohana for dinner on our next trip. The only problem is that my daughter is extremely picky and has food aversions, so she won't eat anything that Ohana has to offer. Is it possible for us to dine there, and only pay for the adults if the kid doesn't eat? I just don't want to pay for a child meal, knowing she wont eat anything.

Thanks in advance!

No. At AYCTE restaurants and buffets every guest pays whether they eat or not. Otherwise how could they monitor every guest to see that they did not, in fact, eat a single thing.

However, they will provide kid friendly food like chicken nuggets, fries, Mac n cheese, if you ask. But you will still pay the full child's price - pretty expensive nuggets.

I find that spanking works...

Yeah, after she vomited all over the Thanksgiving table after eating a green bean, we don't push new foods in public. She eats a wide variety of foods, but certain ones her body just rejects.
‘Ohana will accommodate your child with other items (for example chicken nuggets or pasta) for the child price. Unfortunately, you cannot bring her and not pay for her.
Thanks! This is the answer that I was looking for!

I'm sure your Daughter could find "something" on the Ohana kids menu that would appeal to her. Good luck & enjoy your meals :)

It's frustrating when people assume things about other people kids and families, I really don't think she would have posted this if there was something their child would eat, the OP also states that they tried at Thanksgiving and threw up everywhere so they don't try new things in public, its not even my posting and I am pretty frustrated with your post, just my 2 cents

They have normal kid food menu items there. My sons got chicken nuggets and the other got a hot dog, both with fries and a special kids dessert each. Go and enjoy! Just ask them what kind menu options they have available!

The good news is you can just hit the ignore button and not get "frustrated"

I'm comfortable...ish (a little embarrassed) to admit that based on my memory of my taste buds when I was a kid, everything on the 'Ohana menu would have made my gag reflex work over time too. Even food I would normally otherwise like - the chicken and the steak and the noodles - the spices and sauces they use would have made my gut go "nope, coming back, Jack, clear a path."

Thank you! Heck, even as an adult there are foods that I don't like. I dont know anyone who loves all types of food. Like I said above, I can get her to try foods all day long, but I will not force her to eat something she doesn't like. Vacation is not the time nor place. I would much rather her eat something that she likes instead of having the possibility of her throwing up in the middle of dinner. Im sure the wait staff and the other families enjoying their meals wouldn't appreciate that much.

i have 8 children and as soon as we have sat down a server has always asked us if they need to accomodate any of the children with an alternate menu item. Our kids love Ohana and we always turn it down. However, on most occasions they still bring us out some mac and cheese, rice krispy treats and occasionally a portion or two of other kid type items "just in case" Everytime we have eaten there a table near us has ordered something different for their child. So its totally common the happen there.
