So i made reservations at Ohana during one of the nights of MNSSHP. We wont actually be doing the HParty, but i thought it might be a way to watch the fireworks.

We have never been to Poly at all, can you see the fireworks from Ohana? The fireworks that night are scheduled for 9:30 that night and the only reservations available were 9:15.

Is this gonna work or not? Any help/advise?

I think the ADR is a bit on the late side to make it work. Also, not all tables in 'Ohana have decent views. i.e. many tables offer obstructed to highly obstructed views. We personally like viewing from the Poly beach if we're going to view in that area. Of course, that doesn't allow for you to dine at 'Ohana. You still have lots of time to "stalk" the website...so maybe you'll be able to improve your time if you keep checking. We've also had significant waits to be seated at 'Ohana, so you may want to factor that in when trying to improve your time. Mind you, we were trying to time this to watch from the beach, but I was initially looking at 'Ohana before Holiday Wishes from the Poly Beach at the same time as your scenario and I was aiming for something in the 7-7:30p range to be able to make it out to the beach on time. Hope this helps.

Most people that are seated at the tables able to view the fireworks tend to camp out until after the fireworks so the best time to try to get one of those tables would be around 8:30. Maybe you could try to show up early and hopefully get seated. Enjoy the Polynesian and Ohana. Its our favorite dinner.

I had the same timeframe (seating 15 min before the show) at this past MVMCP and our seats weren't right along the windows but they weren't bad either.
If/when you have a good seat the Ohana is an amazing place to watch the firework show from. You are farther away than the other to monorail line resorts, but you have a direct line to the show, not off to the side. They pump the fireworks music into the restaurant so that works very nicely. That being said, having ressies so close to the time of the show you are probably going to be seated farther away from the windows as people with those seats tend to hang out for the show.
There is a large rectangular walk way that circles the center of the restaurant, this is where they do the hula dances and coconut races etc for the kids - but during the fireworks show it clear of most staff and if you really wanted you could probably stand there in front of a pillar so you aren't blocking anyone elses view and watch.
Regardless of how the fireworks turn out you're going to have an amazing meal - just make sure to leave room for the bread pudding and icecream! And if you're in the drinking spirit have a Lapu Lapu for me!
