I can't remember if they charge you a fee or not. I am super sick right now and I don't know if I'll make my ADR tonight. But isn't it too late to cancel without being charged a fee if there is one?
This ^^^^ My son and I wound up leaving DH in the room one trip, he was so sick and we let concierge know, and they took care of it. Call as soon as you can though, to ensure you aren't charged, I am certain, you won't be charged if you call them and explainYes, Ohana requires a credit card guarantee to reserve, so they will charge you for a no show ($10 per seat in the reservation, as I recall).
Yes, it is too late to cancel without penalty (you need to do that with at least 24 hours notice to avoid penalty).
However, considering your situation, I would give WDW-DINE a call, and if they can't help you out, contact Guest Services at the front desk of your hotel. I can't imagine they wouldn't be understanding of your situation, and maybe they will waive the fee for you?
When the kid and I got sick last trip, I called and cancelled our ADRs out of respect for others who may want our seats, and they ended up not charging me for the missed ADRs (though I didn't ask for that, and didn't realize it until I was checking my statement after the trip).

Do you think he could take my cousin and use our DDP? I know you can use one card if you're both staying in the same room. Couldn't they just say they were sharing a room? How do they know? I'd just really hate DH to miss this meal! He's really been looking forward to it.
I dont see why not? Ive done this. My sister in law met us at Disney and ate with us instead of my husband. All they did was ask if I was on the dining plan and charged me three TS credits for myself, my son and my sister in lawDo you think he could take my cousin and use our DDP? If one person shows up for the ADR, then you won't be charged (it won't be seen as being "missed")...
You could probably get away with that trick (using the card for your Cousin)...but I'm positive that Disney frowns on that, at least with official policy.
If they got away with it, I would think, it would be due to the waiter not checking all the cards. When I've gone in the past, I've had waiters who check all the cards at the table, and other (most) who only check my card to confirm the type of Dining Plan we have.
So, I'd say they could *probably* do it, but there's a chance that they wouldn't get away with it.
Sorry, not very helpful, I know...but, that's my opine.
Yes, that happened to friends of ours actually (6 were booked, 4 showed)I heard that if you book for a party of 5 and 3 show up, you will charged for the 2 others not showing up. Not sure if they actually go through with this or not but that's what I was told.

I often wondered too, but I always visit Disney in the fall, she had gone early July and was charged for 2 people. Well, we did lower our count by 1, one year, ADR was for 6:10 and I let them know at 2:00 there would only be 2 of us, not 3, and was not charged a penaltyInteresting. I've never had it happen (never showed with a smaller party than booked)...I would just assume that if you show, then it's not a no-show.
Then again, I can see why Disney would do that...though, I wonder what would happen if you called the same day before your reservation and lowered the seat count (not cancelled it)...would you be penalized then?
Yes. This seems to be the only way to cancel within that period. we had to do the same this past February, and we called dining directly, explained what the reason was, and they took care of it for us. NO charge. There's a one day cancel policy. Perhaps call directly and explain to them that you are sick and maybe you won't get charged? I hope you feel better.
