'Ohana Dinner ADR

So I need to make an ADR for dinner at 'Ohana 180 days from tomorrow. I've been testing the waters for a party of 4 the last few days and things don't look good. At 6:02 AM this morning, the only times available were after 9PM. I'm a veteran at this thing, but simply can't believe it's selling out of 5-7PM slots in less than a minute.

What's going on? Is Disney holding times until later dates? Does anyone know?

Are you staying onsite? Resort guests can book for ten days or their entire trip (whichever is less) at 180 days from their checkin date. Since 'Ohana is such a popular ADR the strategy many people use is to book it for later in the trip so they have a better chance of a reservation. Don't fret; book at 9pm or 4pm if you must and keep checking the site for a better time. People cancel and change their minds so keep trying and good luck!

This ^^^. And to add we actually prefer a reservation after 9pm at 'Ohana but if that's not ideal for you like already said just book it anyway and keep trying for an earlier time. :)

'Ohana is extremely popular. When booking something like this, we've found the best strategy is to plan it towards the end of your trip if you're staying onsite. Since onsite guests can book 180+length of stay for ADRs, odds would say you're less likely to find availability earlier in your trip. Of course, if you're booking for a window when free dining is being offered, it's more difficult to book everything.

I actually used a free reservation finder to get mine. Party of 5 and we didn't finalize our plans for mid-October until 165 days out so I was kind of stuck. It checked a few searches I set up every hour.

First reservation the site found within a couple days was at 8:45 and I snagged it. Re-started the search and got pinged a few days later for a 7:45 so I swapped. Also used it to find Be Our Guest, Cinderella's (which I missed because I wasn't fast enough) and Chef Mickey's all in prime hours. Just a backup plan for if you get desperate (although you definitely need patience to use it)!
