Oh god, what have they done to New Orleans Square?

I absolutely agree with everyone here that this was a sloppily executed project brought to you by the "Team C" of WDI...

But, I gotta chime in with some support for @TP2000 here guys. In person you do not notice it unless you specifically are looking for it. Also it appeared to me like there is bracketing being installed for a matching iron balcony to go in, which will mostly cover the off centre window... of course it should never have been off centre in the first place, but it's the lack of balcony right now that is oddity when comparing the surroundings.

Poorly executed, but in no way, shape or form has NOS been seriously degraded. The photos are focused and deliberate to prove the point that corners were cut - and they absolutely were. It's not the best, but it's not a "problem".

Also the doors are "worse" than the off centre window, only because you can peak through them and they are eye level. Should have gone with a wall and a stained glass window instead.

I like when people are passionate and demand better from Disney, but the real problem with Disneyland right now is Tomorrowland, not an off-centre window. The Westcoasters who try and block any new projects from tomorrowland, demand the people mover be reused (the track congesting pathways is half the problem), but take this up as their mantle are too laser focused on the wrong problems.

What's really unforgivable is that TDA has blocked off Court of Angels to the public. It's just such a crass money-grab that takes away from the charm of New Orleans Square in order to line the pockets of Iger and company. That's not exactly what Walt meant by "plussing".

All the huffing over the stained glass doors being plastic... I can't help but think that is probably just building code.

Glass that is too close to the ground, or in locations where people are likely to walk into is generally required to be tempered glass. So any door would really be required to be a sandwich... stained glass with tempered glass on both sides of it. Then you have California's over the top lead warnings...

Thank you. I take it you are one of the few folks who has actually wandered through NOS in the last 10 days? You just summed up my overall thoughts nicely.

Fascinating Q&A Session with TP2000!
Do you think this remodel is WDI's finest Anaheim work? No.
Are you bummed out that Court of Angels is now off limits? Yes.
Is it important to have lovely things in your life? Yes.
Do you think Walt would approve of expanding his private club? I can't say, the man has been dead for 48 years.
When you walk around NOS does it look better than zoomed/cropped photos viewed online? Yes.
Do you think the Off-Center Window of Doom is a sign of the apocalypse? No. Everyone knows the Seven Horsemen of the Apocalypse were already released from the gates of hell when Starbucks replaced Hills Brothers on Main Street.

Wow, what a great point. I bet you are right and it's building codes and that silly Prop 65 mandate from our overlords in Sacramento. As we all know, you can't enter Disneyland property without seeing one of these many signs placed at all entry points around the Resort.

And Prop 65 was majorly related to Sacramento's desire to remove all stained glass windows from the public domain to reduce lead exposure. I hadn't thought of that when noticing the plastic panels on the Court of Angels gate. But that has to be it.

This is definitely possible.
