Hey all,

As I set up my blog, I'm kind of curious about this...

Does WDW have official colors? Such as the purple on the side of the bus? Or ... I don't even know what else.

Just curious.

They go through trends of color around property. The purple/red/yellow signs, gold accents during Happiest Celebration on Earth, the blue everywhere for Year of a Million Dreams, etc. I don't know that there's an official color but they do seem to stick with a color scheme and theme style every few years for whatever celebration is going on.

There are "families of colors," and no one specific color.

The most common color, from a trademark usage perspective, is probably white, because that is the color most often used when printing the "Walt Disney" or "Disney" names on merchandise, such as tags, labels, Disney DVDs, etc. Unless of course the background color is white, in which case the Disney names are usually represented in black.

If the Disney names are printed in a particular color, instead of just white or black, then it may be for a graphic design standpoint, to match surrounding elements, such as on a web page.

...On the other hand, sometimes I associate WDW with brown and shades of green, like the color scheme of Wilderness Lodge, Fort Wilderness, Animal Kingdom and its Lodge, and even the original Disney Village, much of which remains today in DtD. I guess this also works with the several acres of wild nature that give much of WDW its unique identity.

PS: If you find any of your pictures on the site, and would like the credit for taking them in the caption, send me a PM and I'll credit you. I put in the "About" section that I own nothing on the site, but if you would like the extra credit, I'll gladly put you down!

Disney most assuredly has a media relations group somewhere that dictates the hex or pantone colors it uses (supposedly Princess Pink is Pantone Pink #241)

They would also dictate how the logo is to be used in print and electronic media, on various background, how it is positioned, etc etc.

I used to manage some recognition programs here at work, and we would hand out branded merch. There was a list a mile long we had to comply with as to how our logo and colors could be represented whenever I sourced custom merch.

There are actual "official" colors of Walt Disney World:

Lavender
Lagoon blue
Mint Green
Pumpkin Orange

I thought that the official color was "dollar bill green".

Purple is Epcot's official color.

Please cite where this information comes from, otherwise it is just made up and another false internet statement.

As I recall from my Disney training, there are not any official colors mentioned on our training manuals.

As far as I know, these aren't "official" by any means, but you can generally look to park logos and in-park theming to get the "feel" of certain parks.

MK: Silver and shades of light blue, red accents
Epcot: Silver and purple, while WS seems to have embraced rainbows
DHS: Blue and silver OR black and gold (font is more important than color)
DAK: Green and brown
